“America, across the fruited plains by auto”
Now that is one unappealing thought, even thought I have done it.
Now this:
America, across the fruited plains and mountains and desert by motorcycle
Is not only appealing, it is something I do at least once a year. Cars are necessary, but motorcycles are for pleasing your soul.
I’ll be taking a road trip to D.C. from Washington state this summer, I’ll check this out.
If traveling by cycle these videos might be made for you. Alton Brown from The Food Network had a series entitled Feasting on Asphalt several years ago. Riding across America on his cycle.
Hope you enjoy

I’ve driven across the US 9 times. Now no one in my family or friends wants to do that. I have 1 or two more trips in me.
If it were summer, I’d drive across Canada and zig zag back across the states.
My summer trip this year will be a three week long trans-Canada rail trip starting in Vancouver, B.C. and ending in Halafax, NS.

Thanks for sharing. Road trips are fun - the sights along the highways is what makes the fun The interstates that criss-cross our country, no matter how convenient they might be, have taken a lot of fun out of road trips. Interstate for fast; the highways and by ways for a more unique experience. Think “Psycho” one would NEVER see the Bates hotel on the interstate. :-))
