One minute Yvonne Rosado was dancing with her pet pit bull inside their Bronx apartment and the next, her dog was dead in the hallway, a city cops bullet in its head.
A gruesome video captured the officer, responding to a domestic violence call at a neighboring apartment, pumping a fatal gunshot into beloved 4-year-old Spike.
The pets devastated owner says the cop needlessly lost his cool when the typically pleasant pooch, its tail wagging happily, wandered outside before the Feb. 13 tragedy.
The officer just reacted badly, a teary Rosado told the Daily News on Thursday. I was screaming, Hes friendly! Hes friendly! But he still did that to my dog.

agreed
thanks.
i personally wouldn’t go by a wagged tail.
My cousins’ had a pit bull that would wag its tail at other dogs as it lunged for the throat.
My daughter has a tenant that has a dog. The dog likes me, but barks and backs my daughter into a corner (maybe dog doesn’t like women)
Seems the officer could hear the barking and started backing away & drawing his weapon before he saw the dog, so he was already on the alert. Dog comes out toward the office. Officer backs down the stairs and is shooting. Five seconds total.
I understand why the benefit of any doubt is usually given to the police.
The follow-up and the reasoning behind it should be interesting.
when was this (an approximate year would be enough)
well we in NYC finally got a mark on the dead dog map.
(unless I missed others)
