No amount of logic, no pointing out of obvious truths, no reminding of past positions, will sway them from their support of Trump...Cruz.

It is what Rush does not talk about. Ok you Cruz guys explain this.

Why has the “Club for Growth” come out in support of Ted Cruz? Why has Jeb Bush come out in supporet of Ted Cruz? Why has Lindsey Graham come out in suppoert of Ted Cruz? Why did the cheap labor express Carly Fiorina accompany Ted to the Border? Why has Mitt Romney come out in support of Ted Cruz? We all know the list could go on and on. Explanations please.

RUSH: He was the last! He was the last. He went longer than anybody not attacking!

Which as Ted told his donors was his plan all along. Coast in Donald's wake and pretend to be a friend, while Trump knocked the competition out, then attack just before the voting started. It worked to a degree, but in the end not.

“As they saying goes; you can’t reason someone out of a position that they did not arrive at with reason in the first place.”

Yeah, I heard that call. It is one of Limbaugh’s favorite ploys — get a Trump supporter on the air that is not all there and bait him and hold him up to ridicule and try to claim that that caller is typical of all Trump’s supporters.

There was a Trump supporter that was on the air very early. He made sense, so Rush would hardly allow him to make his points, kept interrupting him. But he will give this type of caller unlimited time

Not what’s wrong with what Vinny said. Cruz cut his political teeth in Washington working for W. His wife is a partner with Goldman Sachs. Goldman Sachs secretly funded his Senate campaign. Cruz has spent his entire career in Washington and while he talks a good game, he’s delivered nothing ever except key votes for TPP, for Corker, etc. He’s 100% establishment and the proof is in the pudding with every member of the establishment lining up behind him as opposed to Sessions, Arpaio, Palin, etc., for Trump. Trump did show up at the 1988 Republican Convention and announced himself as a Conservative Republican. Is a doctrinaire ideologue who’s spent decades in the trenches? No, he’s a New York City real estate developer, and I’m fine with that.

I consider myself an average Trump backer. I was skeptical at first, and I still have my doubts about him. But, the reason I support him is that I know exactly what we’ll get with Kasich, just more Bushism, he’ll push for amnesty, he won’t lift a finger to close the border, and he wants us to get into a war not only in the Middle East, but with North Korea as well.

As for Cruz, pretty much the same thing. I used to like him, but his alliance with Glenn Beck is a real turn off. His closeness with the Bushes, i.e., Neil Bush, the Jeb financial team, now the Jeb endorsement, no thank you. As far as I’m concerned, Bushism has to be uprooted and discarded, completely, and that includes Stealth Bushes.

Is Trump perfect, no. I don’t know exactly what he’ll do, and I’m sure I’ll be disappointed somewhere along the line, but I don’t know that for sure, so I’m willing to give someone who isn’t intimidated by the media, someone who isn’t swimming in special interest money, and someone who has actually created jobs, have a shot. I might be pleasantly surprised, and won’t be greatly disappointed. I held my nose and voted for Dole, Bush2 twice, McCain, and Romney, all of them were big fat ZEROES as far as I’m concerned.

So, Cruz supporters can call me LIV all they want, and point out Trump’s faults, but I don’t care. The only chance we have to uproot the Bushes is to get someone who isn’t a Stealth Bush.

LOL The Church of Trump almost has me giving up on FR forever.

. There is always an excuse, always a justification, always a reason why Trump's behavior is to be praised while even the allegation of similar behavior on behalf of Cruz is to be condemned.

That statement can work as easily by reversing the names. I don't hear Trump supporters like myself justifying Trump's poorer statements, but all I ever hear from Cruz supporters why it is great he has the Bush dynasty join his team or Romney support him even when Romney made clear he only wants a brokered convention.

When Cruz calls Trump supporter low information or not engaged it ok with you guys. If Trump said that about Cruz supports I would not justify it. You really fail to see how you excuse everything Cruz does that is not conservtive much less Christian.

EVERY fan I've heard articulate their support merely projects all their dreams of “hope and change” onto their "Sham-Wow" guy.

Which is exactly what won Obama 2 terms. Trump knows this and so do I which is why I switched from Cruz to Trump.

Certainly Trump concerns me as a social liberal, I still believe he has the country at heart and wants to see us off our ass economically. Plus he will destroy the condescending SOBs in the GOPe which is an absolute must if we even have a shot at saving the country. Is he a hard core conservative consitutionalist? No, but my instincts tell me we have a chance with Trump. We can work on the conservative details later.

Cruz on the other hand, as smart as he is will not be able to draw enough Democrats and Independents to beat the Bitch of Benghazi. Trump is much more of a uniter than Cruz.

For me, it's come down to: Will a POTUS keep me and my family safe?

9/11 was planned under Clinton, but executed under Bush.

Notice that after that, nobody f'd with us.

Under Obama, terrorists KNOW that we DON'T mean business.

Terrorists have free reign to do as they please.

I trust Cruz to a degree, but I KNOW Trump will keep us safe.

Hillary or Bernie?

No, not in a million years.

And you can’t get a Cruz supporter to look at his or his wife’s resumes and realize the plain truth staring them in the face. They have been high level GOPe for 20 years, both of them.

constitutional conservative + cronyism

OR

populism without cronyism

the Constitution does not address cronyism which history demonstrates to lead to the eventual downfall of republics

I hate to admit it, but thanks to this primary season there are a number of posters here I have no interest in uniting with, ever, for any reason.

I'll probably just take my opposition to Hillary somewhere else.

To put a fine point on it, yes Trump clearly has liberal tendencies.

But at least he seems "open" to conservative social issues.

I would vote for Rudy Giuliani if given the chance, even though he is *definitely* liberal on social issues.

We are really not given that choice right now, so I have to go with the (realistic) choices presented.

Kasich is a complete no way.

He's liberal on about every issue.

If Cruz gets the nod, I'll vote for him.

When in a democrat controlled state corruption bribes are the cost of doing business. Grow up and stop supporting Hillary.

I heard that one but not the one in this thread.

Rush all but called the guy a liar because he refuses to accept that some (of us) people were all in for Cruz but now aren't, once we've seen more of him.
