Johnny Cash Live at Folsom Prison
I’ve got to add ‘Jimi Plays Berkeley’ because he was ‘ON FIRE’ that night!!!!
OK, here are my favorites, in roughly chronological order:
Live Cream, Vol. 2 (Great extended jams on some favorites, and “Steppin’ Out” is one of Clapton’s greatest improvs)
11/17/70 (Elton John playing as a trio and just breaking into America)
Queen Live at the Rainbow (Early Queen as they are just reaching stardom in the UK, with Freddie Mercury in perfect vocal form)
Wings Over America (Almost three hours of live Paul McCartney, even if he only plays five Beatle tunes in the set)
Rush: Different Stages (I like the variety of tunes over the course of their career, the complete 2112 live, and the bonus disc of a 1978 show)
I’m sure I’ll think of something else obvious as soon as I hit “send,” but these would be my favorites at the moment.
And I did buy UFO's "Strangers..." after reading this thread...one of the best live albums I've ever heard...
