Good think the cratered seafloor wasn’t damaged when the minesfields were installed (and mines detonated) off the Norwegian coast during World War II.

Interesting! Two years ago, a couple of expert swimmers drowned nearby when they launched their canoe too close to a dam. The canoe flipped, and they drowned while trying to swim just a few feet to shore. The explanation was that air bubbles in the water flowing over the dam reduced the density of the water. This caused the swimmers to lose buoyancy, and may also have contributed to the canoe tipping. They sank before they could reach safety. Just a small percentage of bubbles in the water can make it unswimmable.
I'm sure, though, that some will attempt to attribute the methane releases to Global Warming. Keep in mind, that the reputation of the Bermuda Triangle was gained long before Global Warming. A number of WWII training flights were lost there. It may be possible that methane in the air could also alter aircraft engine performance, causing the engines to run rich.

There’s no actual mystery. The whole thing was invented by a writer for a grocery store circular, just trying to kill column inches. You take that same sized triangle and put it in any coastal waters with civilization there’s just as many ship and plane “disappearances”. Planes crash, ships sink, and when it happens in the ocean we tend to not find them for a long time if ever.
