The most radical aspect of Ted Cruzs policy platform is his tax reform proposal. He wants to completely eliminate the IRS, corporate taxes, payroll taxes, and institute a value-added tax of 16% and a flat tax on income of 10%.
It is. I actually prefer the income tax. With the VAT, they can hide how many feathers they are plucking from the goose.
Of course, it would be easier to figure. Just pay whata they told you.
If he were talking about replacing the income tax with a VAT that would be a discussion to have. I think adding a VAT to what we have would just allow the Feds more opportunity to take our money. I know most of the socialist countries in Europe have both an income tax and a VAT. I don’t see how adding another category of tax to what we have now is a good, conservative idea.
