Trump had his own Viet Nam:
“I’ve been so lucky in terms of that whole world,’ he said of sexually transmitted diseases. ‘It is a dangerous world out there,’ he said. ‘It’s scary, like Vietnam. Sort of like the Vietnam-era.’ ‘It is my personal Vietnam. I feel like a great and very brave soldier.’

John McCain received citations but not one of his citations described as required in military manuals a specific act of heroism, not one. The reason he received the citations is because he was an Admiral’s boy and nothing more than that.
McCain is highly decorated with empty citations. He was and is a fraud.
Yes he suffered as a POW but so did countless others who were wounded and left to die in the jungles of Vietnam.
Suffering is not a citable action for heroism unless it was to save lives or accomplish a critical mission. All of this is clearly described in military manuals for citations. I posted direct links and sources last year that left zero room for argument.
People that learn the truth about McCain become angry and angrier still when he calls anyone supporting Trump ‘crazy’. He called the 15,000 Trump supporters in AZ “crazies”. And you can bet he’s cackling over those like Beck who are insinuating that Trump supporters are Nazis.
I saw 250 men of my age come back home in boxes every week fighting a war that wasn't fought to win allowing the enemy to be supplied in an open harbor with no fear of destruction. Suicide patrols into the jungle at night led by 90 day 2nd LT wonders who didn't have clue. I dodged it for 4 years with a college deferment that wasn't available to everybody. And at the end of the day after our troops were out the democrats pulled the rug out under South Vietnam who promised air support when N.Vietnam broke the cease-fire agreement by invading the South.
Ironically one of these ads was put out by a Mitt Romney PAC.
Lying by omission accomplishes the same level of disloyalty that the liar John Kerry established at his Winter soldier false witness fraud.
The liar, coward and war criminal was Kerry himself, and not those he accused.
Frankly who cares.
If we were to be honest then we need to ask the same tough questions about Vietnam as we have about Iraq.
That war was the seminal event for those of us in the Baby Boom generation and even today the reasons for the U.S. to have been there are murky.
The Flower of the U.S. youth was sacrificed for reasons that remain vague.
GHOSTS OF VIETNAM CALLING DONALD TRUMP: SHOW US YOUR DRAFT CAR
By Gordon Duff, Senior Editor on March 31, 2011
TO SOME IT NEVER HAPPENED MILITARY CADET GRAD IN 64, COLLEGE IN 68 YET NO SERVICE OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER
and, when homeless vet activists asked for his support (not money) he answered
Mr. Trump is in receipt of your business presentation. While he appreciates your bringing this opportunity to his attention, regretfully, it is of no interest to him.
He seems to have walked it back-but the fact it was said at all is not good.
I am a Iraq Vet. First one under the first Bush. I still wake up in a sweat in the middle of the night.
I do not blame anyone for not volunteering for that, or for not eagerly embracing the draft back in the Vietnam era.
I served under the watchful eye of many Vietnam era vets when I first joined in the early 80's. There stories made me understand what a hellhole that place was.
I am grateful for their service, particularly since they were at such risk fighting a war the public didn't wholly support, and one that was politically mismanaged from the Pentagon. To a man, they believed the war could have, and should have, been won. And that it never should have dragged on that long. And in quiet moments over a beer, they mostly didn't think we belonged there anyway.
Even more incendiary, and a statement that might get me banned by JimRob... if the draft were instituted today, I'd have my son on the first flight out of the country.
So, I don't blame ANYBODY running for President for not serving. A volunteer service is all that should ever be required, barring a catastrophe where the survival of the Republic is at risk. That wasn't the case in Vietnam, and it isn't the case in the Middle East.
And even more flameworthy: I think women SHOULD be required to register. If it ain't worth sending our daughters into war, it ain't worth sending our sons either.

Twitter and news conferences are not enough.
Besides, he needs distance between himself and the ads...as they should be just as hostile and dirty as his oppositions.
If he has the money he says he does, he should start spending.
Big.
Otherwise he will be steamrolled.
He seems to have backed Santorum, Huckabee, and maybe Chris Christie.
Don't know if he got money from (say) Cruz or Romney...or if this is on his own hook.
When the Draft lottery was held for men of his birth year, his birthday, June 14, was very high (353) and he was virtually immune from the draft ever after.
Real draft dodgers fled to Canada, elsewhere, or went to jail. Well, at least one simply refused orders and later became President.
Trump was strictly speaking not a draft dodger and those who say else are either ignorant or lying.
I’m glad I went to Vietnam, and would do it again even knowing the outcome. That Trump avoided, or missed out on it is his misfortune. But that was then and this is now and there are larger fish to fry. If Trump is the nominee, he’ll have my vote.
I don’t think Hillary nor any of the candidates running have served in the military. Trump is the closest - he went to a military high school. That is where he messed up his leg and was disqualified from serving.
You don’t have to serve in the military to be our president. McCain deserved disrespect as he was disrespectful. I hope he loses his attempt at re-election this time.
I've never had bone spurs, but I had a bout of plantar fasciitis and I went to the Doc right away.
And I'm sure Donald had much better insurance than I had.
