Trump knows how to make deals. That’s what’s needed.
How has the standard GOP all-or-nothing approach worked out for us this far? Every time we try to shut down PP, they lament the fact that they “do much more than just provide abortions.” It’s a defense which has served them well.
Trump is playing their game, and will use it to defund them.
I’m all for the approach.
The “game” fails to do the one thing most needed: take an open, unambiguous, principled stand for all to see. This, not gamesmanship or “deals”, is the only thing that has resulted in progress on public support of the pro-life position in the past. Its not rocket science.
Would you say the same thing about the immigration issue?
Indeed he is. Trump had absolutely no problem with abortion for years, and even supported partial birth abortion without blinking. But, then he started floating the idea of running for President as a Republican, and saw what happens to pro-abortion candidates (Rudy Giuliani, etc.) who try to win the GOP nomination nationally. So Trump "changed his mind" on abortion overnight, and made sure to use the word "pro-life" to describe himself, and throw in some meaningless platitudes about defunding abortion in speeches to conservative voters.
The sad thing is his supporters believe he's sincere in these views and not playing the "say what they wanna hear so they elect me" game.
Doesn’t obamacare cover a baby doctor? Also, if PP does 20% of abortions, who is doing the rest? hospitals.
