Looking at the Trumpsters of today, I am reminded of the rabid Schwarzenegger supporters of yesteryear. Not caring about conservatism, not giving a damn about principles, not caring one bit about anything but winning. Perhaps a few of a Schwarzeneggerites would like to comment about how all of that worked out.

You obviously didn't read my comment very closely. I was referring to the 2006 race between Arnold and Phil Angelides. I too thought that McClintock was the better choice in 2003 I didn't vote then) but we didn't have that option in 2006.

Ridiculous argument. Just because Cruz also used the Trump tax returns to attack Trump does not mean he was in collusion with Rubio. And I have no doubt that if Graham had endorsed Trump that Trump would have been slobbering all over himself accepting that endorsement.

I think that what those of us that lived through the governator in California is what gives us reservations about Trump. I fell for the trust me crap once in eagerness for a change and that was enough, I swore to be very careful after that. Trump may be all he says or he may be a pile of manure, I at least have months yet before I have to commit.
When Schwarzenegger ran for Gov, I fell for him solely because he campaigned on “I grew up in da socialism. I saw what it did to people in Austria. I won’t led id heppen in Kullyfoahnia.”
But he was married to a Kennedy and sleeping with his homely maid. He screwed us bad.
I do not see this happening with Trump. If it does, it does, but I think it’s a safe bet to take.
Steroid enhanced muscles-—ever see ‘Hercules in New York’? His acting improved over time. But without the build wouldn’t have gotten that long term nurturing as an actor.
Trump has the savvy for doing the job, unlike the professional politician whose success is measured just by achieving election.

How many times are you going to run candidates who are not natural born citizens of the United States and are not eligible to lawfully serve as POTUS before you wake up and understand doing so divides conservatives who will have nothing to do with what they see are illegal candidates? If you cannot find a half a dozen people who are born in the United States with two U.S. citizen parents and are otherwise well qualified to be President among a population of 300 million Americans, you don’t deserve political support.

You are incorrect, there are other ways he could pay for the wall.
He could allow construction paid with private contributions (maybe with billboards printed on the wall.)
He could tell Mexico if they don’t build the wall he will release every violent Mexican felon in US custody in the middle of Mexico City, and declare all cash remittances from the US to Mexico to be tax avoidance and drug money laundering and shut them all down.
He could declare a State of Emergency and use FEMA funds to build it, etc.
Too difficult to reply to everyone who has answered. Will get to that this weekend. What I really wanted to do was remind everyone how Arnie’s candidacy set FReepers at each other throats for an entire election cycle, and how stupid all of the Arniebots looked when it was all said and done.

Fair enough. I don’t think Trump is the second coming of Lucifer or anything, but I just don’t think he has the right stuff or a grasp on what really makes this country successful and worth fighting for.
I’m just referring to the way that the Arniebots were foaming at the mouth to get him elected even though McClintock was obviously the better choice. FReepers quite simply losing their poop and going off on other FReepers over anyone who disagreed with the. Star power, I suppose. I would very much like to see that myself. I hope it comes true. But Cruz has done it. It hasn’t necessarily served him, but he hates them, and they all know it.
