“OK...The quote from Mussolini is not really the point, it is used as a vehicle to contrast Trump bombastic character versus the Founding Fathers character ...
How many of our founding fathers would be voting for Trump ?
I think not many...”
There is one part of your post I agree with “I think not” what a stupid post...do you really think you got this down? You are just brainwashed by the same group who has controlled who is in office for decades now...there are a large and growing group of us who have been freed from that. The fact that both parties elites are against Trump is proof of the revolution going on. Trump leads the next generation Tea Party movement.
Opps
Well this has to be the dumbest post yet. The founding fathers who were wealthy men. Risked everything declaring war on the most powerful country in the world. Yet you say they weren’t living like Lions. Wow that is seriously stupid.
Sorry for the name calling, just woke up.
Good on ye!
Respect and civility go a long way, regardless of our differences of opinion.
LMAO!!! Trump as Churchill???
We’ll file that one with the comparisons to Jesus, Moses, Washington, Jefferson and Gen. Patton.
He may very well win the nomination, but let’s not get too carried away here.
“How many of our founding fathers would be voting for Trump?”
LOL. I bet all of them.
This article is completely misguided and stupid.
Trump will operate within the framework of the constitution. If he doesn’t, congress can remove him from power.
The article is suggesting that POTUS needs to be a weak man to preserve our freedom. BS.
Weak presidents will be exploited by Putin, by the Chinese, by the Arabs, etc. They will be abused in the world stage and will be left with nothing.
Which part of Roman government do you asteem?
If the quote is acceptable then defend the quote, but stating that it was Roman imperial tyranny that fostered it, not fascist Mussulini, doesn’t really address the issue.
We have not been governed by people who submit to the rule of the Constitution for more than 100 years.
And, by surrendering to them out of decorum, we are permitting the nation to go out of existence.
Enough.
What you think and what the reality might be, if it were even possible, may not be the case.
I think our Founders would absolutely be upset if they were to miraculously return. I think given their desire to be free means they would support Trump.
But either speculation is that, speculation, and nothing more. It is not only a useless, but a fool hardy, exercise in futility.
Actually the quote goes back to Roman time, nice tey moron
Maybe someone that cannot spell try should not be calling another person a moron.
I’ve read a great deal written by and about W.S. Churchill. Trump is not Churchillian in any fashion.
Give Teddy Roosevelt a heavy dose of arrogance and the morals of an alley cat and you’d be getting close.
Like they removed Clinton and Obama.
But he did see the Nazi threat to civilization ahead of most of his contemporaries, in the same way that Trump sees the threat from Islam.
I don’t know what ‘experts’ Trump uses, but he’s BEATING THE CRAP OUT OF THE GOPe and has TOTALLY NEUTERED Bill Clinton.
I’d say they’re PRETTY DARN GOOD experts and he’ll, most likely, bring them in to run the country next year.
Instead of tearing down Trump they should instead concentrate upon posting positive things about the candidate they support. Why are they not doing that? Because they have no real positive from which they can pull from. Thus they are left with only the attempts to impugn Trump and his supporters. At some point, realization that trying to discount their attacks with civility does not suffice nor abate the attacks, so civility takes a walk.
I honestly am starting to believe they are GOPe plants.
“It is better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as a sheep.”
I like the quote and I don’t care who said it.
You miss the point of my post. The whole concept of our republic is that we the people are the government. God is our only Sovereign and the Constitution our contract. Our 3 EQUAL branches of government are administrators of it. Public servants. Our representatives.
The last thing we need is Trump to bring in his “you can’t lose with the stuff I use” (Rev. Ike) style experts to run the country. We need guardians of the Constitution, not bullies to push around the other branches of government.
I slapped those quotes together in a hurry, wanting to get it posted early since this is Super Tuesday. I was hoping Trumpkins would see the contrast and stop before all is lost. I knew there was not much chance. I doubt many even read the quotes.
One day as a lion does not a Mussolini make.
What’s wrong with bombastic? Our founders had plenty of that element in their character. So?
