My understanding is that the first deadlines haven’t passed YET, but will in a couple weeks.

I forget which radio program I heard it on but the states with the nearest deadlines are South Carolina and Texas. Any Independent candidate must have the required number of signatures turned in the week after Super Tuesday for them.

Then, several other states have deadlines in the week after that. All told, any Independent candidate would have to have a total of 495,000 signatures (or something close) within several weeks after Super Tuesday.

Well nigh impossible to get it all done in time to make it on the ballots in all the early states. Especially with no infrastructure.
