Was Willie Sutton engaged in capitalism when he robbed banks at gunpoint? Was Ponzi engaged in capitalism when he perpetrated his scheme and defrauded gullible innocents of millions?

Is Donald Trump practicing capitalism when he engages in fraud to fleece unsophisticated and likely relatively uneducated folks desperate to improve their lot in a semi-capitalist society? Do you deny the practicing fraud is not capitalism but criminal activity? Do you deny that the allegation is that Donald Trump committed a fraud.

If true it is as damning as it gets for a multi billionaire (we think, he might be lying about that too because he won't release his tax returns) to callously lend his name and resources to a scam to line is already deep pockets with the last reserves of the people he cheats.

With the biography of Donald Trump replete with cheating, fraudulent activities, illegal activities, disreputable associations, bankruptcies, sleazy enterprises, why is it that we find so many people willing to drink the Kool-Aid about this man? Why is it that so many people believe that this mountebank will somehow come to Jesus moment he is sworn in?

Are they as desperate as the poor defrauded souls who believed Donald Trump could help them make a career in real estate?

When Ross Perot ran, many nominally conservatives flocked to support him.
I heard Jackie Mason say once, "you supporting this guy because he got money? What do you think, you schmuck, that he's gonna give it to you?"

Seems part of Trump's allure is his wealth and power but after hearing a short list of the Wall Street banks he owes major money to, I really wonder if he's as rich as he's implying. Why would a multi billionaire keep going bankrupt?

Okay, well let’s just sit out the election since there are no decent candidates in the running.

Problem solved.

You’re citing definitive criminality to support the ‘beliefs’ that Trump committed a crime. An excellent prosecutorial argument, but beliefs definitely oppose objectivity.

Nobody is drinking kool-aid (other than the usual number of fanbois). The deal with Trump is he is not afraid to attack anyone including the GOP. That is his sole value.

I have been to one of these programs marketed in the name of 2 successful HGTV real estate speculators who fix and flip property

The possibilities were interesting, the basis being research the property market, find properties in tax arrears , buy tax liens on the best properties , collect interest when the lien is redeemed or resell the lien or cut ally take the property if the lien is not paid

Then flip the property to a speculator, or take possession fix it and flip it yourself

The seminar service, for extra fees, offer more intense workshops, access to their research on property tax bases, access to their network of lenders and Realtors and speculators looking to buy and flip

Of course they make it sound east and it could be- if you devoted your time to doing the research and finagling the deal. Starting small is perfectly possible but getting greedy is probably a major issue with some folks

The room was full of what we would politely call Low info voters who looked like the only real estate experience they ever had was with section 8.... Plus quite a few gray heads looking for a retirement profession

So it is really amazing that 98% of the folks at the Trump pony show said they were satisfied.... The 3 day money back guarantee was also standard so if you didn't like what you heard, take your money and go home

I would have to call this a politically motivated witch hunt vs Trump
