You speak like a Trump supporter, in pejorative adjectives. I don't care if you vote donkey or registered for FreeRepublic in 1920, you're all "Democrat Underground" in your choice of prose. You're a CINO, "conservative in name only", when you denigrate fellow FREEPERS with personal attacks.
I'd usually say "you can be better than that", but honestly, I don't think you can.
FreeRepublic is actually a conservative BLOG forum.
You, like most Trump supporters, automatically assume that anyone questioning Trump's Alinsky politics are Cruz supporters. Why would that be? Is that because the only Christian or Conservatives left on FreeRepublic are Cruz supporters?
As for reading 300+ posts of vitriol towards Cruz on this thread, no thanks. I know of about four consistent ethics charges against Cruz, but most have been thoroughly and completely debunked.
There's no perfect candidate out there. Trump? Give me a break. He's a casino shyster first class. He'd better be a fighter, because the Democrat party will bring up every mob connected deal, every widow he tossed on the street, union graft and pay offs he participated in, the whole ball of wax. Trump is the biggest lie in the campaign.
Bush, Rubio, Kasich, even Carson (who I respect more than any of them), they all have "problems". There was just an article out there about Rubio by an INS ICE agent which is thoroughly damning, but then again, the guy is a Border Patrol Union guy - can we believe him?
So, why toss everything conservative in slavish devotion to Trump? Why is he the one? Trump supporters remind me more of Obama's swooning acolytes than I've ever seen in 50 years of politics. Trump hasn't earned that loyalty. He's splintering not just the GOP, but the conservative movement. He's the best imitation of a wolf in sheep's clothing that I've seen.
Finally, if you'll notice, I didn't call you names, or impugn your integrity. NOT ONCE did I use a pejorative towards you or Trump. I have described what I've seen. Calling a person "nasty, just nasty, he's a liar really", as Trump is fond of doing, is meaningless. It proves NOTHING against Cruz, other than the fact that he has a lot more class that Trump, for avoiding a tit-for-tat sixth grade level war of insults.
I don’t need candidate mantras, I had a grandfather who taught me to see through the propaganda and question what was laid upon my plate. You would have been better served had you the same.
Both sides have gotten insane and once the mud started flying, it seems to have become unstoppable.
My point was that you have elected to put your own interpretation on what the founding fathers said and meant, which puts you in the same category as revisionists of the constitution. If you can not supply an actual ruling or adjudication, then your opinion is worth what anyone else’s is. And you shouldn’t YELL, lest someone think you were insane. To express your opinion is OK, but when you make it personal and shout out because someone doesn’t agree with you, then you demonstrate the tendencies of whom you support. you are proving the point of the thread - the Free Republic used to be a place to discuss conservative issues logically and with respect. Now it has digressed to a forum that is used for people trying to shout out any supporters of candidates that they do not agree with. The effect that you wanted to have is just the opposite - I do not support any candidates at this time, but you make it difficult to support Trump, because your support is based on emotion, and not a logical argument. If you try to make an argument, please base it on a fact, not on ‘Trump said’.
I began to turn on him when I researched him and found almost all his associates through the years have disliked him.
They called him, untrustworthy, slimy, a ‘suck up’, liar- and even said he had bo.
There’s just too much smoke here not to be a fire for me.
As a Cruz supporter all I can say is that I hope some smart folks can screen capture or save this thread for future reference. I have a strong sense that one day it will be of great value.
OK, so say you’re a conservative & you posted threads on 0bamacare before 2004 (even though that was years before 0bamacare). So, since you claim to be a conservative, which conservative candidate are you supporting? Unless you plan to sit out the election...

You are right, I should have been more civil in my reply. It gets very emotional watching hundreds of mostly false articles posted against Trump lately with very vocal and vicious comments from freepers. I would still vote for Cruz if I had to, but the fact that his citizenship is not in line with the constitution makes it very hard.
I love unintentional irony and you've provided plenty of it by wildly attacking me for daring to suggest that shrub was GOPe (ie about as far from conservative as you can get without joining the democrats) and therefore those who supported him by definition were also GOPe. I suppose you think Kerry and McCain were war heroes. You need to increase your medication.

You are going on the viewpoint that anybody who does not support Cruz above all others, and communicates his reasons why, is a “Cruz hater”.
Do you think FR is going pull another Giuliani? Get serious. People will get the Zot only when they go off the deep end. Even then, the Zot may only be temporarily, perfect example was libbylu. Completely went off with a pretty good opus, condemning mostly Trump supporters to Hell. The suspension has since been lifted.
