You also have to realize there are numerous trolls here, I've seen plenty of them come and go and pretty much know how to spot them.
Using pejoratives like "Trumpsters" makes your comments less worthy of reading, and certainly less worthy of thoughtful consideration, maybe you should reconsider using them.

No, you see, that interview was done not quite thirty years ago and he was saying then what he says now.
Personally I am loyal to conservative values not people who say they are conservative yet perform like a liberal or moderate socialist. Be they someone we chose yesterday by accident or someone we choose tomorrow on purpose if they stray from conservative values we are not obligated to keep supporting them or staying quiet about their performance.
..... Thus the reason I vote on ones record versus ones promises. Anything less is IMHO a risky bet at best. Such as the lesser of two evils concepts we are usually presented during an election. No polidiot is perfect, no polidiot deserves blind silent devotion. Politics has a human element as we all know and is fallible to the nth degree. Constant attention to its every act is the effort that must be maintained to preserve our beloved republic and liberty.
Just my opinion of course.

Is Universal the same as Single Payer? Trump wants to dump Obamacare and replace it with Free Market Healthcare solutions while providing a Safety Net. (something that we already have called Medicaid)
BTW - We already have Medicaid, Medicare and the VA Healthcare System, all forms of Single Payer. Trump had nothing to do with any of those being implemented. The Horse is out of the Corral and you can’t just eliminate an Entitlement like Obamacare without replacing it.

Before you start with the Trumpster crap, I support Ted Cruz and like Trump as my second choice. Try an honest argument next time. You might just have some people listen to you rather than think you are being purposely deceptive.

You’re right on the money about the current reality of this country, and why it would be next to impossible to elect a principled conservative at this time.
May I also add that, no one can even govern as a principled conservative at this time - nor can a ‘principled’ liberal achieve their ideological aims through the standard process. It’s why we see Obama ruling by dictat and going around Congress.
Frankly, the country is so badly polarized, and our central government so overgrown and bloated, that it’s a wonder the whole thing is still hanging together at all.
With the socio-political situation as FUBAR as it is, no one but a man like Trump can take control and put order back into it. A political ideologue, no matter what stripe, doesn’t stand a chance. If elected, such a person would soon become ensnared and frozen in the machine they’re part and parcel of.

You’d be surprised how many seemingly conservative politicians are for a two state solution for Palestine & Israel. The fact TRUMP hasn’t committed is telling to me.
He is vocal about everything else in a YUGE way.
He endorsed Bibi and even made commercials for him during his election - how much more pro-Israel can he be? I think it’s smart to not get into the middle of this never-ending feud - that doesn’t mean he isn’t for ISRAEL - far from it.
