We need a president who knows how to work cooperatively with independents, Republicans and Democrats in Congress. Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton had that ability. So does John Kasich.
As chair of the Budget Committee in Congress, John Kasich, with bipartisan support, literally balanced the federal budget four years running and repaid $560 billion of the national debt â nearly 10 percent. As governor of Ohio, again with bipartisan support, John Kasich balanced the stateâs budget, converting an $8 billion deficit into a $2 billion surplus, cutting taxes $5 billion.
Ohioâs economy is roaring, with over 400,000 new private sector jobs, and wages rising faster than the national average.
Kasich actually brought jobs home from China and Mexico. With the surplus, heâs helped the mentally ill and the uninsured. And heâs fought heroin addiction among youth. During 18 years in Congress, Kasich served on the Armed Services Committee. He is a national security expert right now, requiring no on-the-job training. He has more such experience than all the other candidates combined. Governors make better presidents than senators.
Compare Gov. Reagan with Sen. Obama, as proof. Among the governors in the race, John Kasich has the best record by far. That is why former Sen. John E. Sununu, former Congressman Chuck Douglas, former Attorney General Tom Rath and I have endorsed him
Bill Clinton did it at the point of a political gun only.
“We need a president who knows how to work cooperatively with independents, Republicans and Democrats in Congress”
Isn’t that what Trump says he’ll do?
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
simply NO!!!!!
Tear up that letter.
There is no case for John “God wants us to expand the welfare state” Kaisch. He is in the wrong party.
Gordon Humphrey was once among the most conservative and reliable of Republican senators. He stepped down after two terms in favor of Bob Smith. Sounds like he knows conservatism is dead
Wow! This is TOTALLY going to change the race!
(smirk)
It is indeed what Trump says he will do TOO! And yet, watch the responses because Kasich says he can and did. Kasich will be shredded on FR for saying...Trump he’s a hero.
If his Primary run is any indication that he works and plays well with others, I still need convincing.
On the other hand, he has reached out to the Code Pink & Planned Parenthood Democrats.
Yep. There’s a whole lot of double standards going on.
“On the other hand, he has reached out to the Code Pink & Planned Parenthood Democrats.”
yeah, they freaking love him.
Probably not going to change much at all.
On paper, there is a great case for John Kasich. He has the best resume of any candidate — Congressional Budget Chairman, two term governor or swing-state Ohio. He was a leader in the Gingrich Congress that was probably the most conservative in decades. But — somewhere within the past decade he took a sharp turn to the Left and has never come back.
“Jeb” Kasich - for when you really, really want a RINO but just can’t take another Bush.
So looking at Kasich’s noted achievements in the letter, how does that stack up against Trump/Cruz/Rubio?
Kasich on armed services
Kasich on bring jobs back to America....has Trump just said he’d that, Kasich has already achieved that from a government level.
Working with the whole Congress as a President should represent the people, not just the Party
Just taking a look at other options as the luster of the current leaders is wearing off
I think 8 years of Republicans working with Democrats has done enough damage. I’m not sure the country could withstand 4 more.
“So looking at Kasichâs noted achievements in the letter, how does that stack up against Trump/Cruz/Rubio?”
All I said is that Trump is saying the same thing about working with others. And he is.
We know that, as Trump correctly quoted someone else, he could shoot someone in broad daylight on Fifth Ave. and not lose a single supporter. But for me his most recent comments echoing the Code Pink blood libel are a final straw, and the kind of wild eyed with blinders on loyalty of his followers reminds me of old 1930's newsreels and the comment by an American observer living then in Berlin: "These people are insane".
He says a lot of stuff...
