Gelato is a must-have everywhere in Italy, but in Sicily it's extra special.
Fruit syrups infused with the unmelted snow from Mt. Etna delivered by
fast-runners. Once cream was added, it became the gelato we all know and love.
Sigh.

We were served Sicilian olives, as an appetizer, every night while we in the Amalfi Coast. I would have been happy if they’re my dinner.

Arancine are awesome. They are filled differently depending on where in Italy you go. I like mine just filled with cheese and tomato sauce. The way my mom learned how to make them was filled with ground beef, tomato sauce, peas and cheese.

Hmm--an article about Sicilian foods from "Paste Magazine."
Doesn't sound too appetizing.

When I was in the Navy, my ship pulled into Catania, Sicily for a few days. I must have gained 10 pounds.
