The bull shaped human cooker was featured in the movie "Immortals". I am listening to a new history podcast "History on Fire", highly recommend. The narrator described a Persian torture/execution method. They place the victim covered in honey in a wooden box allowing the arms and legs to stick out. They left the victim outside and let the bugs eat him alive. The torture lasted for two weeks.

But today, a victim is placed in front of his own TV, is allowed to select programs that brainwash him into endless hours of dementia and ignorance, until he dies from political torture and lies after paying taxes for services no one can afford.

Probably a bit faster then the Spanish Chain method - victim tied to stake and wrapped in ship chains (6 inch or better links) chains end in central bonfire ... heat travels, victim cooks slowly.
One could add a few rubber tire necklaces and substitute a creosote post for a modern variation.

But daring to speak his mind, shortly before he died in obscurity, the man gets shouted down by people who claim to believe the same foolish things he does - all of whom learned those things from an antiquated and long-failed education system more interested in teaching social experimentation and political propaganda than actual knowledge.

The Church might have thought about using that, at a time when most torture was on the part of civil authorities who regarded heresy as a civil crime against the state. Recall that members of the Mosaic Law Congregation asked the Almoravids to invade Spain. But the Spanish Inquisition, which sent a menacing letter to the Papacy after being told to lay off, was a civil institution supported by the Crown, just led by a civil officer in clerical garb, Torquemada, not supported by the Church.

What about water boarding? The “torture” the left says is evil! Lol.

Those folks are working with the Prince of Darkness, the Evil One.

Who cares? They did it. Does it really matter all that much - no one mentioned the Christian Church.

Dunno if it was based on facts, but a PBS movie about Queen Elizabeth and showed a part where some guys tried to overthrow her regime.
They were caught and turned over to the tender mercies of the Guys Who Run The Dungeons. There was a chilling scene where she tells the head man, “Think up something new”.
