Roosevelt ran on the Progressive ticket but he was nothing like modern day progressives.

From what I read Andrew Jackson was the most rabble rousing kick ass POTUS. First 6 POTUS were stoic, stuffy, and verbose. This guy shook thnkgs up.

Yes he was. His environmental activism, his antitrust legislation and his projection of American Military power put him squarely in the Progressive realm.

He is still my favorite President of the “Rushmore Gang”.
