20 best Super Bowl commercials 2016: Which ads were your favorite? (videos, poll)

What were the best Super Bowl commercials of 2016? The funniest? The cleverest?

Most brands played it safe this year, but a few big game ads were still memorable thanks to celebrity appearances (Steve Harvey, Christopher Walken) and cute animals (wiener dogs, marmot). Several companies decided to stand out by being weird, such as Mountain Dew Kickstart's sort-of-terrifying #puppymonkeybaby and Willem Dafoe as Marilyn Monroe (yes, in that dress) for Snickers.

Same here, although we also liked the Hyundai Genesis (daughter on a date) commercial.

Yeah, but they got the biggest free boost from Peyton himself at the end of the day!

If you think that was free, I have some great investment opportunities for you.

* “Movin’ on Up” with Jeff Goldblum was good
* PuppyMonkeyBaby kinda freaked me out, but Kickstart had the best ad last year
* Steve Tyler and Skittles portrait was pretty funny

Well, I did notice that Manning said he was going to drink a lot of beer twice; once on the field, and once on the podium. He only mentioned “Budweiser” on the field in the immediate aftermath of victory. He did not mention “Budweiser” later on the podium. Read into that whatever you will, but I picked up on both of those when he said them.

Agreed...Steven Tyler in Skittles was a good one.
He is a unique character for sure. Nobody like him!

Apparently, he changed his mind. First, he was going to drink a lot of Budweiser. Then, he had some time to think it over and decided to drink a lot of beer instead. I think that was a wise decision.

The Doritos commercial. And the fact that NARAL and all the feminazis are “wee wee’d up” over it was an added bonus ;)

reminiscent of the i am going to disney world lines at the end...

i am sure big beer approached both quarter backs with the same promise of the winner... mention budwieser anywhere in your post game interview, and we’ll pay handsomely...

I just watched several of the commercials on YouTube this morning and found most of them lacking and not very good or funny.

The PETA ad was one that really went too far as they advertise the Super Bowl as family fare.

The only lone I saw that was somewhat okay was the Prius commercial and it could have been funnier.

All in all very lackluster.

I went back and found the American Express commercial that Paul Newman did for Super Bowl 24 and it was still funny after all these years.

The singing sheep.

Marilyn Monroe Snickers.

Everything else was mediocre.

Anyone notice the Scientology ad just before halftime? Pathetic! Lisa McPherson could not be reached for comment.
