Assuming there are extraterrestrials who are far more advanced than we are, why would one expect their computers to look like ours? Isn’t it just as likely their computer development may have been entirely different than ours?

It’s a Hephaestus, named after the Greek god of Kindling.

That’s obviously not a laptop, it’s a flip phone circa 2006.

It should be noted that many of the questionable items come from about a 200 year period around 0 AD. That is, within a window 100 years before, and 100 years after. The “Greek Period”.

My personal favorite I saw during the Splendors of Ancient Egypt tour around the turn of the century. It was not your typical stuff, and I think they realized, almost as an afterthought, that the exhibit didn’t have any mummies in it.

So the very last exhibit was of a Greek Period wooden coffin, with a mummy in it. Whether it was a part of the permanent exhibit, or just found somewhere, I don’t know.

But I did note that it had a two part lid, like some modern coffins, and that the inside of the lid over the mummies’ face was painted to look like the night sky, filled with large stars.

Stepping back from the coffin I noted the thick, red and white horizontal stripes that went around its exterior. But with that part of the lid raised, I realized that I was looking at an abbreviated version of the flag of the United States!

I had a long laugh with my friends about this, then observed, “I guess the time machine works, at least halfway.” And you figure that for Christians, this would be the ideal time to pay a visit.

Some people think this guy is a time traveler due to his garb:

Cool Dude (Time Traveler) at 1941 Bridge Opening

A photograph from 1941 of genuine authenticity of the re-opening of the South Fork Bridge in Gold Bridge, British Columbia, was alleged to show a time traveler.[18] It was claimed that his clothing and sunglasses were modern and not of the styles worn in the 1940s.[19][20] The photo originated from the Bralorne Pioneer Museum, and was featured in their virtual exhibit Their Past Lives Here, produced and hosted through investment by the Virtual Museum of Canada (VMC).

Further research suggests that the modern appearance of the man may not have been so modern. The style of sunglasses first appeared in the 1920s. On first glance the man is taken by many to be wearing a modern printed T-shirt, but on closer inspection it seems to be a sweater with a sewn-on emblem, the kind of clothing often worn by sports teams of the period. The shirt is very similar to the one that was used by the Montreal Maroons, an ice hockey team from that era. The remainder of his clothing would appear to have been available at the time, though his clothes are far more casual than those worn by the other individuals in the photograph.

Debate centers on whether the image genuinely shows a time traveler, has been photomanipulated, or is simply being mistaken as anachronistic.[22] The "Time Traveling Hipster" became a case study in viral Internet phenomena in museums which was presented at the Museums and the Web 2011 conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
