Arizona police shot and killed a transgender man who gained viral fame last year after uploading a video showing his service dog calming him during a meltdown.
The 24-year-old, who had Asperger's syndrome, was legally known as Danielle Jacobs, but identified as Kayden Clarke and hoped to transition from female to male, friends told the Arizona Republic. Police were at his home Thursday morning after being alerted to a suicidal email he had sent out, according to the Associated Press.
A pair of officers tried to talk to Clarke through an open doorway as a third officer retrieved a "less-than-lethal option," a Mesa police spokesman said Friday, according to video uploaded by the Republic. Clarke came to the door with a large kitchen knife in hand, said the spokesman, who referred to Clarke as a woman.

He wants to be known as a heterosexual male, and the media oblige.
Your anecdotal theory is correct according to scientific statistics. But don’t try to argue that with Lefties. To them, anyone with LGBT orientation was BORN THAT WAY. And if you argue with them, even trying the scientific route, you are a HATER. No joke. They bend over backwards to blame the situation on birth/genetics.
How many FReepers on this thread have called this delusional woman a man?
seems it would be a lot easier for these trans-genders if they were named Pat.
At least it was a dog lover.
Is this a possible opus ?
I don’t want to upset you any more than you are but do You have a “Safe Space” ?
Well, she shouldn’t have come to the door to see cops with a butcher knife. That point right there says she wanted to die. They should reward the cops for giving that looney woman what she wanted,
How to commit suicide:
1. Send out a suicide note.
2. Wait for the police to come to your rescue.
Oops...
3. While waiting for the police, set about choppin’ broccoli.
Choppin’ broccoli...
Choppin’ broccollah...
Chop-UH! Brah- cah- LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
My son is on the very high functioning end of the autism spectrum. We are blessed to be open minded about alternative therapies, and blessed to be able to afford them. We have experienced significant improvements in his autistic “quirks” with hyperbaric chamber therapy. It’s neither FDA nor CDC approved for autism, so there is no insurance coverage. We gladly pay out of pocket for it, and we pay dearly. I’m thinking about this story and I’m disturbed that the girl probably didn’t even understand what was happening. We work with our son, seven, constantly with aknowledging when somebody addresses him and appropriate responses. If my theory is correct that she was abused, it’s not out of line to hypothesize that her parents didn’t work with her about these things.
Well, if cops came to the door, and I came back with a butcher knife and lunged at them, I would expect to be treated badly. Since she had talked to them before she came back with a knife, they knew she was aware who they were. I guess in that situation, I’d expect to be treated without compassion.
Was he in a normal school, not a handicapped school? I wouldn’t expect the teacher in a handicapped school to treat him like that. She should have been fired.
What are normal schools and handicapped schools?
Normal schools are where normal kids go. Handicapped schools are specifically for handicapped kids. Since the child didn’t talk until 6, I’m assuming he didn’t go to a normal school.
Nope. Most schools are now integrated. Even MRDD schools take non-handicapped students.
What’s a MRDD school? And, if the child couldn’t talk at that age, would he go to a normal school? I assume mentally handicapped kids aren’t in the same classrooms with normal children.
There is no solid measurement. Mental and physical handicaps are on a spectrum. My son is high functioning so he’s in a regular education room. If he were in the special ed room he would be missing out since his iq is well into the gifted range. It goes in the other direction also. Gifted students will be in regular ed classes if they don’t have to motivation to work to their true potential. We’ve seen beautiful things happen when special ed students, even those incapable of talking, are PROPERLY integrated into regular ed rooms. Our private Catholic school treats all children like Jesus did: Let the little children come to our school. Integration does not always work, but when done properly it has benefits to the regular ed and special ed students.
MRDD schools are publicly funded to take care of severely handicapped, mentally and/or physically, children. They now take regular ed students in for the same reasons outlined above.
Although you don’t think these kids are normal, their lives are their normal. It’s the only thing they’ve ever known. Don’t worry though, they’d still play with your kids.
