He wants to be known as a heterosexual male, and the media oblige.

Your anecdotal theory is correct according to scientific statistics. But don’t try to argue that with Lefties. To them, anyone with LGBT orientation was BORN THAT WAY. And if you argue with them, even trying the scientific route, you are a HATER. No joke. They bend over backwards to blame the situation on birth/genetics.

seems it would be a lot easier for these trans-genders if they were named Pat.

I teach in an urban public high school in which weâve lately experienced an increase in the amount of homosexuals. This year we now have three âtransâ students. Here is my anecdotal theory: Homosexuals are, for the most part, the product of pedophilia. They were abused as children and now suffer severe mental illness regarding their sexuality.
If this is the case, my heart goes out to this poor girl. Having Aspergerâs made her an easy target for some freak.
When I was in college I met a PhD that did a lot of social work with lesbian women. She said she never met one that wasn't abused the men in their family. It was her theory as well, that the abuse these women had suffered had scared them mentally. It eventually turned into a mental illness that left them sexually confused.
It's just sad all the way around.

Well, she shouldn’t have come to the door to see cops with a butcher knife. That point right there says she wanted to die. They should reward the cops for giving that looney woman what she wanted,

How to commit suicide:
1. Send out a suicide note.
2. Wait for the police to come to your rescue.

My son is on the very high functioning end of the autism spectrum. We are blessed to be open minded about alternative therapies, and blessed to be able to afford them. We have experienced significant improvements in his autistic “quirks” with hyperbaric chamber therapy. It’s neither FDA nor CDC approved for autism, so there is no insurance coverage. We gladly pay out of pocket for it, and we pay dearly. I’m thinking about this story and I’m disturbed that the girl probably didn’t even understand what was happening. We work with our son, seven, constantly with aknowledging when somebody addresses him and appropriate responses. If my theory is correct that she was abused, it’s not out of line to hypothesize that her parents didn’t work with her about these things.

I hope you receive the same kind of compassion and understanding you afford others.

That's the whole point. She probably had no idea what was happening.
It should be police policy that if they are responding to a possible suicide, they should carry a riot shield in front of them.
The first reaction of the police shouldn't be to draw a gun and kill someone.
Until someone's had a special needs loved one picked on, beaten, ridiculed, or mocked for their disability, they will never know the heart ache and pain it causes.
This poor woman. The whole thing makes me cry.
I have six kids. My second has Asperger's. He couldn't really talk until he was 7 or 8 and then not in complete sentences. At school one day I walked into his class room to check on him. He was sitting in the middle of the floor crying while another kid was hitting him. The teacher said and I quote, "He cries a lot and needs to toughen up.", close quote.
I exploded. It went from bad to really ugly.
There's a special place in hell for people who say this woman got what she deserved.

Well, if cops came to the door, and I came back with a butcher knife and lunged at them, I would expect to be treated badly. Since she had talked to them before she came back with a knife, they knew she was aware who they were. I guess in that situation, I’d expect to be treated without compassion.

Was he in a normal school, not a handicapped school? I wouldn’t expect the teacher in a handicapped school to treat him like that. She should have been fired.

Normal schools are where normal kids go. Handicapped schools are specifically for handicapped kids. Since the child didn’t talk until 6, I’m assuming he didn’t go to a normal school.

Nope. Most schools are now integrated. Even MRDD schools take non-handicapped students.

What’s a MRDD school? And, if the child couldn’t talk at that age, would he go to a normal school? I assume mentally handicapped kids aren’t in the same classrooms with normal children.

There is no solid measurement. Mental and physical handicaps are on a spectrum. My son is high functioning so he’s in a regular education room. If he were in the special ed room he would be missing out since his iq is well into the gifted range. It goes in the other direction also. Gifted students will be in regular ed classes if they don’t have to motivation to work to their true potential. We’ve seen beautiful things happen when special ed students, even those incapable of talking, are PROPERLY integrated into regular ed rooms. Our private Catholic school treats all children like Jesus did: Let the little children come to our school. Integration does not always work, but when done properly it has benefits to the regular ed and special ed students.
MRDD schools are publicly funded to take care of severely handicapped, mentally and/or physically, children. They now take regular ed students in for the same reasons outlined above.
Although you don’t think these kids are normal, their lives are their normal. It’s the only thing they’ve ever known. Don’t worry though, they’d still play with your kids.
