You need to read Article 2, Section, 1, clause 5 and notice the time frame.

You also need to read Article 1, Section 8, clause 4 , the first half.

American History needs to be taught again in our schools.

Article 2, Section, 1, clause 5

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Only a person born in America or is a citizen of America at the time the Constitution is adopted is eligible to be President. The part, or is a citizen of America, was included because those born here were too young to be President. It only encompassed the period until those born here were old enough to meet the age requirement. That part is now defunct. You aren't implying that someone who immigrates here and becomes a naturalized citizen is the same as a "natural born" citizen, are you?

Section 8.

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes;

To establish a uniform rule of naturalization, and uniform laws on the subject of bankruptcies throughout the United States;

A uniform rule of naturalization, has absolutely nothing to do with being a "natural born" citizen, but everything to do with those who come here to make America their home. It's the process they must go through to become a naturalized citizen. That process must be uniform so that it does not change from one immigrant to the next and possibly favor one immigrant over another based upon where they immigrated from.

Apparently you are under the delusion that I am a younger person than I am. I am 63 years old, and closer to 64 than 63. So yes, I learned all of this in school, and yes it needs to be taught again.

What exactly was your point of this exercise anyway? I still stand by my contention that Ted Cruz is not a "natural born" citizen as intended by our Founding Fathers. There is no doubt though as to his being a U.S. citizen by virtue of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, through his mother's citizenship.
