Schlafly unloads on Rubio: 'He betrayed us all'
In 2009, Marco Rubio was a plucky challenger for the open Senate in Florida, taking on incumbent Republican Gov. Charlie Crist. Though Rubio was trailing in the polls, one leading conservative activist thought that he had real potential and vowed to help him.
“When Marco Rubio ran for the Senate in Florida, I think I was the first one to endorse him,†said Phyllis Schlafly. “I made a trip down to Florida in 2009 just for the purpose of helping him.â€
But Schlafly, a legendary conservative activist, author, and WND columnist, now says she is bitterly disappointed by Rubio’s record once he got what he wanted.
“Once he got elected, he betrayed us all,†she told WND. “He said he was against amnesty and against the establishment. And once he got in, right away, he became an agent of the establishment. And now of course he’s big for amnesty and letting all the illegal immigrants in. He betrayed us a number of times on that issue.â€
Schlafly said she was startled at the magnitude of Rubio’s “betrayal†on amnesty.
“It was so public,†she said.

Betrayal is the best word in our language to describe rubio. As a former Florida Voter and Tea Party Person, I voted for him eagerly because of his promises and his seemingly sincere adherence to conservative principles. Almost immediately after the election, he began to show his true colors, and it was devastating to me, not only because I realized he had deceived us, but because it made me wonder why I hadn’t seen through him all along.
It was profoundly disturbing, especially after the rejoicing we had done after the “Great Shellacking” of 2010.
Then I saw many others, whom I had supported or thought were conservative, turn into liberals and turncoats.
I will NEVER again vote for rubio as long as I live. He’s the worst.
As I have always said, if you are going to stab me, at least stab me in the FRONT.

I feel she has betrayed us by not supporting the real conservative: Cruz.
That’s the same thing they did in 1986.
Passed an amnesty for less than a million, we were told, with border security and workplace enforcement measures that would end illegal aliens flooding the country.
We got the amnesty for over 3 million, we’re still waiting for the enforcement.
That amnesty got us 10 times the number of illegal aliens.
If we do it again, we lose the country.

Maybe she knows things about Cruz that you do not (or refuse to even entertain). Ditto Jerry Falwell, jr & by indications, Jeff Sessions.
Pulling America out of the path of a speeding semi is not ‘betrayal’. It’s patriotism.

Sessions has not endorsed anyone. As for the others, they are tragically wrong. At a time when we could unite behind a real conservative, Cruz, they are doing the very thing they criticize: Compromising principle for power. Isn’t that what they criticize the GOPe for? Well they had better look in the mirror. It may be decades before we have this good of an opportunity to get a true Constitutional conservative back in the White House.
I shudder to think of the judges a President Trump would nominate.

Exactly. A Bubio presidency, combined with that Wisconsin traitor running the House, is guaranteed camouflaged termination of any border law and order. It will be the end of the Republic. Mass invaders upon wave of more mass invaders, politically stronger with each wave driven by elements of increasing force from within and without.
We most certainly are slow watching the end of this nation and its reconstitution as a third world banana country.
