Thank heavens Donald Trump opened so many eyes to the lies, corruption and total lack of accountability that come so naturally to the permanent political class. And Sen. Ted Cruz was spot on when he once noted that "millions of Americans are asking for accountability and truth." Which is why it's so curious - and saddens us - this lack of accountability with the lies of Cruz's own campaign.
Cruz's campaign chairman, U.S. Representative Steve King, is lying, and good for Dr. Ben Carson for calling this out. King, who's previously asked for and received my endorsement, time and resources to support his own election, is still lying about my altruistic support of Mr. Trump, and he's refused to provide any evidence to the contrary. And, this U.S. Congressman actually lied to his own constituents on behalf of Cruz, regarding a good man, Dr. Carson. He told voters Carson was dropping out of the Presidential race immediately before the Iowa caucus, causing a relative uproar inside the process, so the word would spread and he could rack up more votes for his candidate, Cruz. That's a dirty trick. Dr. Carson deserved better. The voters deserved better!
Where is the accountability for these political actions? Very sad; typical Washington tactics. THIS is why "the status quo has got to go."
Our friend Dr. Carson put it so well:
"As Christians, of course we accept people's apologies, we also have to ask ourselves is this acceptable to us, the American people, or should there be some accountability? There should be some consequences for things. You don't just say 'oh, okay, sorry... okay let's move on.' The damage was done to me, it wasnât done to them."
We've had eight years of a reckless President, accountable to no one, pushing this country to the brink. Why would we ever take a risk repeating that? We are never going to turn this country around if we keep electing "more of the same." Just like conservatives have been preaching in opposition to Obama's political tactics for years: actions speak louder than words.
The Cruz Campaign's actions to destroy a good man's efforts to serve are no different than Obama's practice of not holding anyone accountable. Typical politics. Typical politicians.

Ouch, that’s gotta leave a mark.
Previously posted today on FR but the usual gang of Palin-haters showed up, OF COURSE.

Yeah. I’m not sure if Rush realized what he said but he was trying to say that to change the delegate count, certain would have needed something like 25K more votes but that he didn’t think that the fraud accounted for that many. So it didn’t matter. Like there wasn’t a remedy that would change anything. But he called it fraud.
$arah Palin voluntarily abdicated the Governorship to which the people of Alaska had elected her so that she and her family could capitalize on her new found fame. She chases the almighty dollar, and Trump has a pile of dollars to chase. She has as much credibility as a disinterested commentator as Josh Earnest, Obama’s press secretary - i.e. none. She’s a paid commentator for the Trump campaign. Take anything she says appropriately.
Don’t think he ever had a halo, but guess some thought that. What we are seeing is GOPe hitting Cruz from one side and Trump from the other. As to the letter, not sure what you mean by “finally admitted”, seems he owned the letter when it first came out. And, no reason not to, it is a campaign tactic used by both Dems and the Republicans, to include the Rep Party, but the Iowa Sec State is a Trumper and against Cruzes anti ethanol subsidies stance, so he was hardly unbiased. Additionally, the individual in the Cruz campaign who put out the mailer is a former SecState who says those mailers are routine. But, as is evident by the invective and name calling on most political threads on this and other boards, facts, and in some case, reason are ignored.
It’s over for Trump he’s sounding like a little kid who didn’t get his way and his ego is bruised.
He immediately corrected himself
I don’t know. I mean she was picked to be Vice President of the United States for McCain if nominated. I mean what are you going to do about that if you genuinely care about the country and want to help influence things for the better? She was given a bigger stage to speak from. You blame her for accepting that role? I and many others certainly do not. I think you’ve got a distorted picture of Palin.
Kind of. The question is, is there any truth or gravitas behind his complaints? Usually there is and although at first many people dis the guy, oftentimes it comes out he was right and he actually said what needed to be said.
We’ll see I guess.
Freudian slip I’m sure
I was a fan of Palin at the time she was selected for VP running mate. I admire her pro-life dedication. I liked what she had to say on the issues. But then she became a quitter, and gave the governorship to someone less capable that she at espousing conservative principles. Just rubbed me the wrong way - and that was six years ago.
If Palin was supporting an actual conservative, I might agree for her concern of the country being a driving force. But, she is supporting a liberal wolf in populist sheep’s clothing. A liberal wolf with deep pockets. Things all start to make sense when you tie this to the leaving Alaska for the big money. It is truly a shame, too.
You know better.
I’m sure Alaska has a codified transference of succession to the governorship if it is vacated. Why do you say Palin “gave” the governorship to someone?
Please forgive “gave” - only meant by leaving, the next guy wasn’t as effective. She didn’t literally give the chair someone outside the succession.
Well, again you call her a “quitter” for answering the call to a wider stage and louder voice. That is a misrepresentation IMO.
She’s no longer credible, she called trump a true conservative didn’t she? On what planet is trump conservative.....she’s starting to sound like the daily kos
No he waited 48 hours before he admitted he ok’d them. There were long threads here claiming a subordinate allowed them. You would be ok with your neighbors knowing your voting habits? Not me even though they are an A+.
Re:”Cruz admitted to this dirty trick”
Cut the crap.
He addressed the same situation that Rubio did election night as well. But we don’t hear the condemnation of him.
Either you are a Rubio plant or so full of s*** you can’t see straight.
It was not generated by Cruz, it was from CNN.
Stop spreading lies.
You are the dirty bastard for blaming Cruz, not CNN or even mentioning Rubio.
Tell Rubio he is still on the hook for his dealings with the Gang of 8 when you see him next.
