I loved Breaking Bad and Saul. I did not know it at the time but the producer earned his skills on the X-Files - he said he pretty much copied the style as his own because he learned it from Chris Carter.

Ditto here. IF you already didn't know, effective Feb 1, Saul (S1) is on Netfiix. Binged in two evenings, and think I'll go for seconds before S2.

Working on X-Files is how he met Cranston (did a guest spot) and knew he’d be perfect for Walter White even though everybody thought of him as comedic after Malcolm in the Middle. One of those classic lessons for struggling actors on why to do your best every time, 15 years later it can matter.
