I was just listening to the news about the election results in Iowa as I was doing other work, and overheard the "Talking heads" commenting on Cruz being supported by 62% Evangelical Christians and it will be different in New Hampshire with 26% Christians. They crowed that Cruz would meet his match in secular New Hampshire and quickly fade when Cruz meets "real American voters".
Within one hour, the same station reported that New Hampshire's biggest problem was overdosing on drugs like heroin. They paraded several poor souls in front of their camera telling their testimony of how drugs and violence was ruining their lives. Almost immediately, I said to myself, Is this the biggest problem in Iowa? Does anyone see the connection here? Does rejecting God and a Godly man equals a collapsing culture? Does anyone even think that if more of us were Christians that walked the walk, would we have the same problems we fight today? Would we have the numbers of problems we have today? Would we have China, Russia, and ISIS breathing down our necks if we were once again a "blessed" country? Can any reasonable person look at abortion, gay marriage, drugs, fornication, ect, and say it's better today than when you were growing up?
I'm 64 now and can remember a time when the stock market was more reliable than today, jobs were plentiful even in a downturn, kids didn't cut themselves and hang from trees, we left our keys in the ignition and the doors were left open, a fight at school involved fists instead of AR15's, when you dated girl she was in fact, a girl, everybody loved America and saluted the flag, we acknowledged God even if we didn't go to church. The list is extensive about what we have lost over the last 60 years. We won wars instead of coming to a draw, we were respected even by our enemies.
I'm sure for the next week or so we will be told over and over we aren't electing a pope, but a politician. I don't want to be preached too from the White House. Even some of the more nasty will invoke the old declaration that the sky fairy isn't listening to us anymore. My question is "why would he listen to us anymore?" We have made it perfectly clear we don't need him anymore. As our buildings fall, our money goes up in flames, our wars are lost, our borders are like a sieve, our children kill others and themselves, we feed babies to Molech, we grasp every idol from anywhere as long as it's not the One True God, how far are we willing to go just to reject the love and protection of God?
You probably have guessed that I'm a Cruz fan, but that's not the total reason for this blog. Will we vote for a person because he ISN"T a Christian? Will we reject someone because he IS a Christian?
If we are Christian enough to be more than a pew sitter, then we know that God is our provision and we can't expect a covering if we reject His presence. God won battles with singers in front of His armies praising Him. Solomon had people bring him riches just because he had God's wisdom. Solomon had NO WAR for his whole reign,.......until he broke God's commands in Deu 17 16-17. When he went back to Egypt to buy horses and chariots and brought in foreign women with other gods, God took his kingdom, raised up a couple of armies against him and the kingdom fell.
Sound familiar?
This has been on my mind for some time now, but the day the kid in S Carolina shot the Christians in a black church after sitting with them for an hour, I saw his face, his empty eyes, filled with demons, and then we watched as EVERY FAMILY MEMBER OF THE VICTIMS, forgave him. Immediately gun control and racism boiled to the top. How could anyone even get a word in edgewise? After all, he admitted he was a racist. But a Christian looks deeper than the surface. How did he get to be a racist? Is a law against the Rebel flag really going to do anything? I want better people and fewer gun laws.
I miss the good ole days when we had better people and fewer gun laws. I know the libs will start to chortle the ole tired Civil Rights excuses to tell us how bad the "good ole days" were. If you look at the plight of blacks today vs then, a case could be made that is was better then. We had legal things to overcome, but many blacks had an intact family, they had jobs, they had a much better survival rate. Any person reading this must know that EVERYONE was better off CULTURALLY then than now. Strides have been made in certain economic areas, but the secular culture that came with it is destroying America. Is it possible to allow blacks to have better jobs without turning our back on God? Is a rejection of God necessary to have integrated schools?
You see Satan can twist things to hide the true intent of spiritual corruption. Now gay marriage is a political stance instead of a moral stance, as well as legal drugs, baby murder, and a dozen other so called liberal stances disguised as political instead of moral.
Like I said, I'm 64 now and have been watching this for decades now and I know nothing I say will save New Hampshire's drug problems because they have already rejected God's way for that of the flesh. Cruz will most likely cut back speaking about God, Rubio won't talk of his salvation again, and so forth. I do believe however, that if God's people who are called by His name will humble themselves, and pray and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways, then He will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. The problem here is God's people aren't repenting and we are not praying for God to heal our land. That is pride. We believe we can vote for a ungodly man to save the land. Would it really be too hard for an atheist to vote for a conservative man that wants to seal the border, balance the budget, and follow the constitution? Trump and Cruz say much of the same things, but one is a real Christian, the other has no clue where his help comes from. They are NOT equal. If New Hampshire votes for a Godly man we will know their pride has been broken and they are calling out to God. We will know we have humbled ourselves when we vote for a true Christian that looks to the blessings of God instead of their own strength. Our strength gets us more drugs, more murder, more cursing, less blessing, and finally ISIS in the White House with a black flag on top. If we refuse to see the truth, it's coming, it has to or God is a liar.
PS. Is Obama still going to the mosque to pray this week? I thought so.
Very good statements. I agree. Thank you for expressing them.
The problem here is God’s people aren’t repenting and we are not praying for God to heal our land.
True. The power of prayers is real and amazing. The neglect of prayer is sad and discouraging. We can ask the Lord to please bless our country, again. Trust that He is our “high priest” and “faithfully” delivers every prayer to the Father (Hebrews 2:14).
The drug use by young people in America is a symptom of emptiness that can be filled with prayer, family, discipline and sports.
