Watching Fox News, I see Cruz has 28% and is the winner, but you'd never know it, because it's been "Rubio is the real winner" and now they've been playing the Rubio 3rd place speech for the last 20 minutes.
My son and I were texting about the same thing during Rubio’s speech. You would think he ran away with the number1 spot!!
>>>The suggestion to buy a farm was a city mouse / country mouse comment that should not have been utilized.”
Good perspective. I’m not sure he can not utilize this kind of tool. It’s too much a part of him, how he sees himself.
Rubio bashed Obama and Hilary in his speech, and didn’t mention Cruz or Trump, at least while I was listening. It sounded more like a victory speech than one from a third-place finisher. It’s the expectations game. Cruz seemed to be imploding after the last debate but turned things around for the win. Trump is not used to second place in anything, and barely edged out Rubio. Rubio went from mid-teens in the polls to low 20s, taking votes from Carson, primarily, but also from the single-digit field. In the Iowa expectations game, Cruz and Rubio won, and Trump lost as did the field. But New Hampshire is a different ball game. Iowa results don’t travel well.
Well, I’m a country girl at heart and to me it was a lovely touch. I like direct talk, not slick tongued lawyers and “debaters,” though I did a bit during my day.
If you want to deal in bumper stickers why don't you take your trade to twitter.
Cruz won the hard fought battle, but Faux is showing the love for Rubio.
I disagree. Period. It’s all in the delivery. It must be debilitating to always criticize an ant’s toenails.
” âI think I may come here and buy a farmâ is a country girl line then.
Ok..
I can see that. Maybe a Richard Gere movie.
(And to head off the predictable responses... The only consistent thing about Trump is that he is for any opportunity that will be good for Trump. I'll vote for him if he is the nominee, but NOBODY knows what he will do in office. We can only hope that it is more often good for the nation than not.)
Can’t stand Richard Gere.
You’re really off base. Paying a compliment to the locals could not have been put better.
Obviously, you do not consider a man’s accomplishments as qualifications. You’re only interested in his public speaking abilities. Pretty lame in my book.
media aside Trump seem to be the one spitting on everybody. Just saying
>>Paying a compliment to the locals could not have been put better.
I’m a local in the backwoods of my state.
“I think I may come here and buy a farm” from Trump would definitely not be a compliment. It would cause some chuckle though.
Perhaps you live in a different locale.
"...It must be debilitating to always criticize an ant's toenails...
And holds a fine umbrella in Gotham City.
I don't expect you to memorize my 10,000 replies but I do expect you to be aware of what's written in this thread before you generalize.
In reply #127 in this very thread I said:
Look, I am an outspoken Cruz supporter and have been unwavering in my support of Cruz and in my opposition to Rubio for his betrayal on immigration but I am not willing to call a thing by its wrong name simply because I support another candidate.
Rubio is a brilliant orator, he has won debates against Cruz and Cruz has won some others. Cruz is clearly the better litigator but on the stump Rubio has an ability to connect emotionally with his audience.
Moreover, he has matinee idol good looks which appeals to a lot of women voters, he has a wonderful biography to tell, which he tells wonderfully well.
Without comparing Rubio to the man, let us acknowledge that Hitler was a great orator. So was Huey Long. That helps get you elected but does not make you a good man or even a desirable candidate.
Why would it not be a compliment? Many city people buy a place in the country. It’s done all the time. Why not Trump? You are inferring it was not meant well from a cynical point of view.
BIG TIME...out with Rubio, commercial, in with Rubio, interview with Rubio communication director
Megyn said TWICE “he didn’t use a teleprompter” when he clearly did. Rubio was back and forth with the lines.
Then she comes back and says “didn’t use a teleprompter, but okay some notes, but NOT a teleprompter”...
I hear Clinton telling me he never had sexual relations with “that” woman...
ant’s toenails is an old expression denoting cynicism which is uncalled for. i.e.If you’re going to spend your time examining an ants toenails you’re going to miss the important things.
