There are still four people occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Harney County, Oregon.
David Fry, Jeff Banta, Sean Anderson and his wife Sandy are still there with the FBI saying negotiations are going on around the clock.
The four want safe conduct out and decided not to leave after the FBI arrested others like Jason Patrick who left the refuge with promises of safe conduct out.
The imprisoned leader of the occupation, Ammon Bundy, has called for the occupation to end, but the FBI's conduct with people leaving is putting a roadblock in the way.
The Pacific Patriot Network, which was negotiating to get people out, said it felt double crossed by the FBI's actions. On Thursday, the group called for a mobilization of patriots in the Burns, Oregon area.
Intitial reports spoke of a gathering today, but new reports speak of a Monday gathering in Burns. The PPN statement uses the words 'PEACEFULLY assemble within Burns, Oregon immediately.'
The PPN issued a statement yesterday with some demands including the resignation of local officials like Judge Stephen Grasty and Sheriff Dave Ward and the "Immediate removal of all militarized FBI personnel and equipment from Harney County."
It also called for the detention of the FBI Special Agent in Charge and all FBI and other law enforcement involved in the fatal shooting of LaVoy Finicum.
After their announcement, the profile of the FBI-Oregon State Police roadblocks in the area of the refuge was reduced with a pulling back of gear that included armored vehicles. Perhaps this was designed to prevent any confrontation.
Meanwhile a five foot tall wooden cross has appeared along US Route 395 north of Burns at the site where Robert "LaVoy" Finicum was shot to death Tuesday afternoon when the authorities arrested occupation leaders.
The snow is still bloodstained at the site of the cross, made of 2 by 4's.
Yesterday, a federal magistrate ordered two of the ten people who were arrested, Shawna Cox and Joseph O'Shaughnessy, released.
Is there something more important going on than the political porn show in Iowa right now?
There sure is.
The fight in Oregon and other western states is truly one about 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness' as laid out in our nation's Declaration of Independence.
LaVoy Finicum is denied his life, the Hammonds are denied their liberty (the ranchers whose imprisonment led to the occupation), and all the across the Western states farmers, ranchers and loggers are denied their pursuit of happiness by federal restrictions on the land.
Perhaps Mr. Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz could get their priorities straight at this time in history.
I have no time to be drawn into the pants on the ground drama playing out over the caucus in this forum and elsewhere.
There's something more worthwhile than the political porn show to worry about.
I've consulted with the FBI and worked with professionals who earned my respect. The ones I met were highly competent and big believers in the Bill of Rights and in the rule of law. However, organizations change, and even good organizations have bad apples - especially when going rogue is a leadership goal.
The only ones I personally witnessed outside of NYC were in KC and Houston.
In KC it was nine people holding banners in the WWI monument parking lot.
In Houston it was about 30 people in Hermann Square - which is muncipal and which seems to always have bums sleeping in it, before and after OWS.
One officer is not going to stop two cars with six people who have all stated publicly that they are armed and ready to resist unless he has substantial backup.
It was a strategic move.
Why are you hung up on it being federal property?
And, again, why did they need to pull them over? You are proving my point that the government escalated a situation that had no need to be escalated.
The government and their response are the problem. The behavior of the government and the agents that carried out the commands are the problem.
These men posed absolutely no danger to the public. If the government had not made a tragic, strategic mistake to engage them, then this whole thing would have passed into memory.
I haven’t heard that LeRoy was promised safe conduct.
I play cards with LEO of all stripes. Down to earth types. However, I still suspect, especially some of the more "elite" special ops squads.

Fidn’t know thst. Makes it even WORSE!!
Totally agree with you about the weapons. They didn’t belong there.
BEFORE THE VIDEO IS REMOVED
Was the sheriff elected?
You say you are a lawman.
I have a hunch what side you’ll be on, if the order ever comes down to confiscate all civilian guns.
During Bundy Ranch, I was curious why so many conservative talkers avoided the discussion, with the exception of Levin. This time in Burns Oregon, no one has touched it. I'm done wondering why, because I expect I already have the answer. They drone on and on about the circus going on in Iowa and who said what about someone's supposed menstrual problems. I could care less. I actually let my 24/7 membership expire last month and have started listening to Kris Anne Hall. 38 minutes of her show provides more information than hearing 3 hours of caucus, Hillary's crimes syndicate which will never be held accountable, phone calls from little kids to sell books, and Lifelock pitches. It's all smoke & mirrors. As KAH said the other day, we are at March 5, 1770 and 99% of the population is unaware.
Sheriff was appointed. Hand picked by Judge Grasty. Grasty’s brother Brent Grasty is also Planning & Environmtal Coordinator for the BLM in Vale, Oregon, which is located in Malheur, which is targeting 400 ranchers later this year when they create a national monument out of 60% of Malheur. They are running a kingdom, not a county.
As far as not being a danger to the public, multiple residents of Harney County have filed police reports saying that they were followed, harassed, and threatened by Malheur protestors.
Additionally, it's entirely feasible that Bundy and Co. went on this longer trip to seize another federal facility.
The police are well within their authority to pull over, question, and detain someone who has committed a crime.
I'm not sure why I can be pulled over after blowing through a stop sign, but someone else cannot be pulled over after breaking into a government office and taking files.
This is irrelevant to the situation and the response. By your justification, the poor American settlers should have been squashed like a bug. I mean, really, resisting the almighty "federal" king?
Fool
If residents of Harney County filed police reports for being harassed, then Harney County authorities should have handled the complaints the same exact way they handle all harassment complaints. If they didn't involve federal authorities before, then they didn't need to now.
Pulling over is one thing. Not chase them down with SWAT. The overreaction of the government resulted in the overreaction of citizens.
I see people getting run down by government swat teams for stealing files all of the time. So glad that is normal operating procedure. Can't wait to see them do that to Hillary.
Some of the people who were threatened were locals who were federal employees, hence federal jurisdiction.
And again, if you are going to pull over six well-armed people who have committed crimes, you need more than a cruiser and a deputy.
Why these people of all the people in the world should be presumed immune to traffic stops is an unanswerable question.
They're not immune. If the cops stop you on the road, you stop and you cooperate.
That's how every normal person operates, unless they have some kind of agenda.
You yourself would never try to lead the police on a chase or reach for a weapon when a peace officer told you to put your hands on your head.
You would pull over and ask: "What's the problem, officer?" and if he said "I'm taking you in on a charge of x" you would say: "I'll come quietly, but I am not saying a word until you bring me my attorney."
I know which side you will be on when the civil war comes. Big government, nanny-state apologist.
We both know that if LaVoy Finicum followed the example of his five compatriots he would be alive today.
We both know that he committed crimes you and I would expect to be imprisoned for.
We both know that the state troopers who tried to pull him over and the feds supporting them had complete constitutional and legal authority to stop his vehicle.
Most importantly, we both know that a "civil war" is a fantasy.
If the sad death of Finicum were what you claim it is: an unconstitutional assassination of an innocent man - then Malheur would be packed with thousands of righteously angry patriots.
There are four people there, sitting in the dark, eating Pop-Tarts.
In today’s country, constitutional authority allows for the murder of unborn babies and sale of their aborted bodies.
In today’s country, constitutional authority allows the federal government to take over and force us to buy health insurance, paying for a product or be taxed for noncompliance.
In today’s country, constitutional authority allows the government to allow marriage between two people of the same sex.
And you want to stand behind constitutional authority to defend the government on this?
