Why are you hung up on it being federal property?

And, again, why did they need to pull them over? You are proving my point that the government escalated a situation that had no need to be escalated.

The government and their response are the problem. The behavior of the government and the agents that carried out the commands are the problem.

These men posed absolutely no danger to the public. If the government had not made a tragic, strategic mistake to engage them, then this whole thing would have passed into memory.

Because there are different levels of jurisdiction.

As far as not being a danger to the public, multiple residents of Harney County have filed police reports saying that they were followed, harassed, and threatened by Malheur protestors.

Additionally, it's entirely feasible that Bundy and Co. went on this longer trip to seize another federal facility.

The police are well within their authority to pull over, question, and detain someone who has committed a crime.

I'm not sure why I can be pulled over after blowing through a stop sign, but someone else cannot be pulled over after breaking into a government office and taking files.
