Trump's Tax Plan: So Terrific That It Would Add More Debt Than Obama's Seven Years In Office

For a man who is running to "make America great again," Donald Trump's tax plan is exceedingly expensive. According to an analysis by the Tax Foundation, Trump's plan would add trillions to the national debt, more than the current sum added after seven years of President Obama's policies (via Weekly Standard):

When Barack Obama took office, America's national debt was $10.6 trillion. It's now $19.0 trillion -- an increase of $8.4 trillion in just seven years, or $1.2 trillion per year. One of the key reasons the Tea Party movement was founded was out of frustration with this skyrocketing debt. Yet Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's proposed tax plan would increase the national debt by $10.1 trillion, according to scoring by the nonpartisan Tax Foundation.

Well, I like Trump for the very fact that he is a maverick. I don’t care what he has said in the past because his words didn’t mean anything other than to stir the pot, so to speak. I’ve done the same thing, just to push peoples buttons but I’m not making policy in doing so. Nor was Trump.

That Sarah Palin sees something there means a lot to me because she is one person who truly despises the current corrupt system and would love nothing better than to upset the apple cart. Trump has shown that with information, he can be steered down the right path.

I know what we’ll get with the other candidates, weak attempts to fulfill campaign promises before they settle in to doing things the way they’ve always been done. It’s like a broken record.

Please post the detailed tax-plans of the other 10 candidates so we can make a comparison.

Amen to that! Sen. Cruz is proposing a 16% VAT tax, like a typical European country has. So much for his conservative principles.

“I don't care what he has said in the past because his words didn't mean anything.....”

Well my friend, truer words have not been said when it comes to Trump and his supporters.

Sarah Palin saw something in John McCain too.

Independent thought, it's all the rage........in 2017.

Look, I know that Cruz, Bush, Rubio etal will NEVER do what they claim they’ll do or what needs to be done Why? Because they don’t have the mettle to see it through. They just don’t! I know it and so does everyone else. Talk about wishful thinking, that’s it.

Trump is a gamble, I won’t argue that but he also is a fighter. What I want to see happen in this country has NO CHANCE with those other yahoos. So I’ll go with Trump because my odds of success are greater there with him.

I’ll add one more thing. The biggest downfall of the GOP is political correctness and the media. The GOP caves under to both. Trump doesn’t.

On a static basis, Donald Trump;s tax plan would increase the after-tax income across all taxpayers by 10.2 percent, on average, and taxpayers in all income classes would see higher after-tax income.

So evil of Trump to increase our after tax income by 10%!

You have to give him credit for his honesty.

I think that is true for MOST of those ga-ga over Trump(others just like that he says that he will deport them all).

But it makes you wonder how he would handle a general race against Hillary, like if he decides he needs to flip all his positions back to liberal again to beat her.

He might not seem so fun anymore.

Great. Now we have alleged conservatives using liberal arguments against Reaganesque tax plan.

The same attacks were made against Reagan's tax plan. Yet the result of Reagan's tax cuts was that revenue doubled to the Treasury.

If a tax plan creates more jobs and increases the amount workers make, tax cuts can increase or, at least, offset revenue.

Any conservative writing this trash ought to be ashamed of themselves.

His plan is progressive

You're an idiot. His tax plan cuts for every income group, just like Reagan'd did.

Deal with it.

VAT taxes have been the wet dream of progressive $ocialists since the late 1950's!

Well my question to you is how do you know what Trump will do if you don't hold him to any standard regarding his belief system?

You say the others won't do what they say and granted, the GOP has been notorious for that for many years so we share that frustration.

But if you don't care what Trump has said, and only care about what he's saying when most of what he is saying is the complete opposite from what he has said, how do you know that the stuff he will do because he's a doer will be the stuff you don't ever want him to do?

There needs to be principles as Conservatives that we stand by and uphold our representatives to. Saying a few things people want to hear and telling everyone you're a winner and that guy is a loser doesn't cut it.

I'm a Cruz guy. I will vote for Trump is he gets the nod because Hillary cannot be president. But I need a guy who, at the very least has NOT been on the opposite side of almost every conservative plank issue, some as recently as last year.

But you're opinion is your own. We'll see how it shakes out.

Comparing Trump to Reagan on any level makes you the same friend.

1980 is not 2016.

Just got to this one. I know some of you Trump supporters hate facts, just emotional drivers like Make America Great Again.

Derangement is blindly following a candidate who’s not a conservative and then trying to convince others he’s just like Reagan.

Thanks, a Google Search on Cruz and his Eurotrash VAT tax proposal:

Sen. Cruz is proposing a 16% VAT tax on top of a flat 10% personal tax.
