Please friend, simply saying you'll lower the marginal rates at a time when the deficit is greater that 100% of the GDP isn't Reaganeque when you also say you won't reform SS or Medicare and in fact on the latter, go “very non-Republican” to say everyone will be covered for health care and it's the big drug companies that are causing the problem and the fix will be the gov’t will pick up the tab when the prices fall yet the market price does not....it's nowhere near conservative and certainly nowhere close to the principles of Goldwater and Reagan.

You want to redefine Conservatism to squeeze a non-Conservative like Trump into the box, it's a free will thing.

The principles aren't living and breathing no matter how popular the candidate may be.

Its a GOP tradition to promise to cut taxes without any near parity in spending cuts, as with Dems promising increasing spending without near parity tax increases(as Sanders is doing now) . Trump just does every-thing bigger than the others esp BS.

But what we should have learned from GWB is that he couldn't get his tax cuts past a Senate filibuster so the GOP Senate used budget resolution to cut them with a simple Senate majority.

The drawback was they expired 10 years later at the end of 2012.

Recall all the fuss here cursing at Boehner because he only got most of those tax cuts extended signed by Obama, instead of all?

Recall all those here claiming they raised taxes by extending only SOME of the Bush tax cuts? All goes back to how they got passed in the Senate

That was what it was about.
