True - but appreciation of men is another behavior she will have very seldom seen modeled by her female relatives. In the USA a woman's love for her child might be unconditional - but for her man it is always strictly conditional and based on her feeling of "What have you done for me lately?" My wife is from Singapore and much better than the problem children depicted in the article - but even from her I would fall over shocked if she ever said anything honestly appreciative to me (It's OK - she's even worse to her sons.
