I think he means a team he went to the super bowl with. Ditka won as a player with Dallas correct? I don’t believe he went to the SB with da Bears. ...but have at it...Nance and Simms are dilweeds.

Ditka won as a player with the Bears but before the SB era, 63. Won a SB as a player with Dallas and then another as an assistant coach.

If Nance meant “first coach to win a Superbowl with a team he played in a Superbowl for”, that wasn’t clear to me.
