Ebay did not like a friend's feedback commentary (it WAS a violation of the rules) and has indefinitely suspended a friend's account. Ebay did not like the conservative commentary in the feedback. No warning notice of violation was given, the friend did NOT know all feedback had to be relevant to the transaction. Representative said suspension could not be appealed and was more or less permanent. Please send me a private message to discuss this. I'll give that person advice on what to do after folks comment.
Indefinite suspensions are usually forever. Must have been some inflammatory uncalled for feedback for eBay to go that far. Unless your friend gets someone else to do transactions for him, I think he really is through there. Sorry your friend had to learn the hard way. Liberals aren’t very forgiving or tolerant, and I assume that eBay is full of them.
You nailed it. Feedback was political rhetoric. Okay.
A very high official with ebay called my friend today and explained that the situation had reached the highest levels of ebay. He made it clear that such postings are intolerable, but due to my friend's professional demeanor on the phone when discussing the issue with ebay and especially the problem of not getting a warning, the account would be reinstated should the postings not be repeated. The man was very professional and nice to my friend. Pretty wow. Account will stay clean, friend said, and life goes on. Interesting your take on being banned. The comments must have upset you too. Why are you here?
Friend received call from high level official who explained policy, warned that next time the account would be nuked and expressed appreciation for friend's demeanor and professionalism when talking with a supervisor on the phone. Account reinstated.
If I offended, I’m truly sorry. I am so glad your friend was reinstated too. I thought he had blatantly broken a written rule. Even if he did, glad they gave him another chance. Ebay is a great opportunity on both sides at times.
