We do not know for sure what Trump is doing like applying the art of the deal. And neither do you. I like Cruz and Trump is saying the right things. Supporting a free market economy is conservative. Securing our borders is conservative. Building a strong national defense is conservative. Getting rid of socialized healthcare is conservative. He will speak out and support Christians and christian values which is conservative.
Agreed Trump has no political track record and so there is uncertainty.
But for you to act as though you can read Trumps mind is a stretch.

It’s not so much that I’m reading his mind, but that I’m just not liking the inconsistency of his positions. Since I believe Cruz would also do all the things you cite, and I believe he’s much more reliable on moral and social issues, and I also like that Cruz has the “libertarian” view on the NSA powers unlike Trump and most mainstream Republicans, I would vote for Cruz. If it was down to Trump against Bush or the other guys, I’d go with Trump. I don’t like RINOs. And I will vote for the Republican in the general against the Democrat whether it’s Cruz or Trump or Rand or Graham or Pataki, etc.

Trump isn’t clear on health care at all, and always says he wants a system that will cover everybody. Once you put in that guaranteed coverage in any system, it poisons the free market nature of the system by giving people the option to do nothing and know they will still be covered in the end. Welfare doesn’t work. Granted, if we would just require community service to receive ANY welfare benefits, the use of it would go way down, but no one’s even talking about that.
