We lost electric power in a big snow and ice storm five or six years ago here in Missouri. The storm knocked down tree limbs and with them, the electric lines nearby.
Our Lopi wood stove was a godsend. Frozen chili, frozen stuffed peppers and some Thai soup kept us going for the five days, all made ready to eat on the top of the stove.
Plenty of firewood, split and stacked, came in handy.

I hadn’t heard about Lopi; though we’d been looking into Jotul, for heat, during our process of trying to learn about this stuff. (No way to use either now, but we’re thinking about retirement, and alternatives.)
