Ted Cruz hit back at Donald Trump today for his attack on Cruz, that he won't go along to get along to curry favor in Washington.
Of course Cruz accepts this criticism and in turn says that if you want someone who will go along to get along and cut deals with the likes of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer, then Donald Trump is your guy.
Couldn't have said it better myself. It's clear Trump puts a high priority on his ability to cut deals with people and that's just not something I'm looking for in a candidate. I'm looking for someone who will push back against the DC establishment and push them to the right through solid leadership, so when they do end up cutting a deal, it's better for America.
That's not Donald Trump. He'll kowtow to the media and the establishment like all the other sellouts in Washington. Just look at his position on ethanol in Iowa for the most recent example
Trump Does Not Fight Liberals. Here is Proof.

That source is Red State.
Every time I hear Trump speak, he talks about how the country is being run by stupid people. If he were to call out names, he would have to mention democrats AND their Republican enablers.
Can you explain to me how McConnell, Boehner, Ryan, etc., differ from democrats? Cruz and all the Republicans save one voted for Obama’s pet project — the Corker bill. If he named names on who is responsible for that bill, it would strictly be Republican names. Trump condemned the bill before, during, and after it passed. Of course, Cruz does to, and he voted for the bill.
No, you're just a living illustration of the truth that the ability to acquire wealth is very different from being all that bright about political philosophies and values. It probably explains why so many very-wealthy people lean left.
It started with your post #2, when you wrote:
Ted is very smart...just not too bright. You cut deals wherein you win and they lose. A refusal to cut deals leaves a stalemate wherein there is no progress.
IMR replied:
You're not too bright. Trump would have a majority in the house and senate he wouldn't need to cut deals with democrats to advance a republican agenda he would only need to cut deals with the republican majority if his objective is to advance the democrat agenda.
But I bet, Rooster, you never got past the "You're not too bright" redirect of your own "not too bright" snark on Cruz.
You might read the rest and compute. Yes, you're lucky and smart, and the harder you work the luckier you get, so that's probably to your credit, too. But I know a lot of smart successful folks who are as dumb as posts about a lot of things, from "global warming" to nationalized health care.
Wealth and smarts are very separate items.
“You do nothing but lie here.
They don’t need to be sent back if they never come.
Its an artificial crisis, and will not be wasted, especially by cruds like you.”
In case you haven’t heard, PRICK, Obama and the Republicans are bringing them over. The Republicans put the money in the new budget for that purpose, about 400,000 of them.
“You do nothing but lie here.”
You must have a very limited mental range.
I'm glad I wasn't drinking milk when I read that!!

Paul Ryan and John Boehner have already done that. Harry Reid is on his way out.
Trump was not talking about making deals as much as he was saying that he would not use EO’s and try to use the Congress unlike Obama does.
How big a heap of mud do you have on the floor there?
You’re directing your comment to the wrong person I don’t support Trump.
All these Trumpsters claim Trump is a deal maker never bothering to think just who is he going to be making deals with.
The republican majority or the democrat minority.
Doesn’t seem to make a difference, he’s a deal maker as if that is all you need to know.
OK put your luck to work and answer why would Trump have to make deals with the democrats if he has a majority in the house and senate or make deals with repubs unless he is going to be pushing the democrat agenda.
Cruz said he would undo all of Obama's ILLEGAL executive orders...
I'd like to see someone undo ALL of Obama's executive orders...Not just the illegal ones...
I guess this poseur never heard of Tip O’Neill
This is why Ted is NOT the answer for president.
To get anything done you MUST cut deals.
This is not bad.
The problem is that for too long deals we were cutting deals giving away the farm for a few magic beans, and now we are all gun-shy.
Trump knows how to make deals to his benefit. As such he will make deals that will benefit AMERICA. Why do I think Trump will make deals that are good for America versus his own personal interests?
Trump’s EGO. Trump is ruled by his ego, and going down in history as the most trans-formative president would be worth far more to his ego than a few bucks.
Trump WILL win. Trump is a winner. Even when he played in liberal NYC and did what he had to do to win, Trump WON.
Trump is now going for his EGO and the need for his ego to be fed as being a successful president, will in fact MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN
Ted has ZERO the people skills that Trump has. Ted can’t get done anything he wants as he has alienated his own conservative peers (Notice Zero endorsements from house and senate)
Trump has the people skills. Trump has shown the ability to negotiate what he wants and giving up very little in return.
This is why Trump making deals isn’t a bad thing, whereas Ted getting NOTHING done because he can’t make any deals is by far the worse choice.
Astounding!!!!
Please pay off the Freepathon
When Trump could stand against the Obama policies destroying our economy and founding principles as Hobby Lobby, Chick-fil-a, Lakewood Bakery, and many others did, where was Donald? Where was Donald when a County Clerk from rural Kentucky was sent to jail for obeying the law, where was he?
Oh yea, he was far too busy kissing their backsides to take a stand against them or grow a backbone....

"....[Larry] KING: There are a lot of great topics. One of them is Barack Obama. In fact, the list at the back of the book on the topics, the number one is, "Barack Obama's election ushers in a different world."
How do you assess him?
[Donald] TRUMP: Well, I really like him. I think that he's working very hard. He's trying to rebuild our reputation throughout the world. I mean, we really have lost a lot of reputation in the world. The previous administration was a total disaster, a total catastrophe.
And, you know, the world looks at us differently than they used to. And I think he's trying to restore our reputation within the world. And he was handed a pretty bad deck of cards. I mean, he was given a pretty tough situation.
And I'm not saying I agree with everything he's doing. I do agree with what they're doing with the banks. Whether they FUND THEM or NATIONALIZE them, it doesn't matter, but you have to keep the banks going.".....CNN Transcript of interview
Me too, but it sounds like it hurts me a lot more. I was in the Financial Idiots Hall of fame before I was 40.
