Just got out of Benghazi 13 hours.
Wow what a movie!
It was evident from the start this was an accurate portrayal.
The actual participants in Benghazi helped Director Michael Bay plot out the movie.
At times the characters/heroes were a bit hard to follow as one bearded dude looked just like the next.
But the overall story, plot and accounts were told perfectly.
From the beginning of the movie until the end you can see how higher ups were stifling the contractors and CIA Agents.
They also did a good job showing that each man had a family to come home to they loved very much.
Also during different times over the 13 hours multiple calls for help were made. Planes were shown sitting at the ready.
At one point those at the Annex are just asking for a simple flyover and they are told no.
These men and women were left to die while interrupting Obama and Hillary's scheming. (Gun running)
In the end as they're about to head home one of the survivors makes an interesting comment, almost an aside, but important nonetheless.
"Something's not right. How did those guys know our exact position? Something doesn't smell right."
Indeed.
What we know is Obama and Hillary were running guns/weapons in Benghazi to groups like Ansar al Sharia who is named in the movie as responsible for the attack.
What do you think? Did the deal go bad? Somebody didn't bring enough money and the Arabs felt screwed?
The movie didn't address it but hours before the consulate was attacked Chris Stephens was meeting with the Turkish ambassador.
Why??
Also what of the reports early on of militants at the compound being heard saying "Don't shoot! Morsi sent us!" There was a FR thread about this at one time.
The whole situation raises more questions than it does answers.
Why did Obama and Hillary pull security from the embassy weeks before the attack?
Was the attack a payment of some sort from Obama to the terrorist group?
What do you think??
At one point in the movie one of the heroes says "Am I the only one that feels like everybody knows what's going on here but us?"
To me it looks as if the CIA Contractors got in the way of Obama's plot.
Had the CIA Station Chief held them off an extra 30 minutes Stephens may have lived to tell the tale.
Was that CIA Station chief in on it? Why did he receive an award for essentially doing nothing??
Anyhow would love your thoughts!
Great movie!!
“Dr Morsi sent us”
Was Hellry or Obamatollah mentioned in the movie?
I just got back from seeing it as well. Great movie. Some guy yelled out “Hillary for prison” at the end and the entire theatre applauded. It’s sickening to see this fraud as our president and this liar with a legitimate shot as their nominee. The movie should be mandatory viewing for all Americans.
I saw the movie tonight. I was speechless att the end. As we’re most of the audience.
How anyone can either vote for Hillary or stay home and not vote at all after knowing what she was responsible for is sickening.
NICE!!! I was going to check out the movie yesterday but the showtime that I wanted to see was SOLD OUT, and this is in liberal Los Angeles..sold out..HERE in LA..I am going to check it out next week when I will have a better chance of getting a good seat
The movie did not AT ALL target talk-radio fans, Benghazi specialists, and people who hate Obama/Hillary.
The underlying subject matter is INTENSELY political, but it seems they went out of their way to remain neutral and try to also bring in libs and young people for a sandy, shoot-em-up film.
We can only hope that they, too, will ponder the questions we pour over here at FR —maybe a few of them will.
Aside from the brief shots of F-16’s standing unused at Ariana, or the exasperated sighs of combatants pondering the (low) possibility of air-support they really did not slam The Political Establishment.
It’s like there’s a silent Hollywood requirement to “hold your fire” if there’s a good possibility a Lib will be hit, particularly in a run-up to an election.
I still enjoyed the film, as it showed the unselfish bravery of them men in the face of long odds.
It didn’t do well opening night.
I’m seeing it tomorrow. Opening weekend is THE weekend for determining success of a movie. Don’t want libs to win one.
Black Hawk Down - want to reach the men, but can’t
Lone Survivor - want to hear from the men, but can’t
13 Hours - want desperately to not hear from the men, not help the men, better if they die, since there’s a re-election
I love how they barely mention anything political - they just show how absolutely everything Obama/Hillary/SusanRice/the NYTimes/MSNBC and all the networks put forth were absolute lies. Not confusion from the fog of war, or honest mistakes, but a coordinated intentional and soulless attempt to hide the truth for political advantage.
Pure evil.
If you haven't seen it yet, try to see it tomorrow. A big opening weekend will turn the movie into a newsworthy political story that will dog the Hillary campaign.
“Had the CIA Station Chief (NOT) held them off an extra 30 minutes Stephens may have lived to tell the tale.”
Let’s Line up our recent democrat presidents -
Carter - Iran hostage debacle
Clinton- refused gunship approval in support of the troops in Mogadishu (Blackhawk down)
Obama/Clinton - great job in Benghazi and trying to cover it up by blaming a video.
They show Chris Stevens scribbling in his diary, but don’t touch on the content, in which in fact he repeatedly decried his increasingly vulnerable circumstances.
Stevens was repeatedly predicting his own death.
Things were so bad the IT guy admonished to his online gamer group that he DOUBTED they’d survive that very night.
And he didn’t.
NONE of that was in the movie, which I do think all here (and all in the country) really should see.
If Nixon had tried to get everyone killed on the Watergate floor those guys broke into, could we have relied on Hollywood to leave all those parts out..?
Yet that IS what we have, here.
Exactly! Thanks for the correction!
I’m still waiting to hear what happened to the 27 surviving witnesses that were hidden from the media. I find it curious that no one in the media is interested in learning who they are and what they were doing there.
Yep!!
They are being silenced for political reasons.
Threatened.
Agreed! Good points!
My wife and son and I also just got back from watching “13 Hours”.
When the woman in the movie tripped coming down the stairs someone in the theater audience yelled out, “Watch your step”.
We really liked the movie. Our son who did not really know
much about it beforehand knows about it now. We filled him
in on the behind the scenes stuff that was not so obvious in the movie.
The overall story was told great.
I had a little trouble telling the characters apart.
From what I understand, this movie is based on the book written by the contractors and is only their account of what happened to them. But that is good because it raises all the questions. I hope I get to see it soon.
