She turns 18 this year. I trust her completely.
Best part is, through my loving guidance and devoted heckling schtick (which she has learned well how to give back), she has managed to channel all of her natural adolescent tendencies to rebel against authority to her commie American history teacher, whom she tortures by consistently opposing his Howard Zinn-inspired teachings.
She argues with him in class and in assignments (with research to back her arguments up) against his lefty lessons on global warming and how FDR's New Deal saved America and all the other indoctrination to which kids are exposed these days.
He gives her "A"s because he seems to get a kick out of her determination to prove him wrong, and her dedication to doing it with challenging arguments (which she's been hearing from me since she was five years old and first asked me: "Daddy? Why isn't everything free?")
So she gets to rebel, and I get to support her in her rebellion against the lefty establishment. A much better outcome than having her rebel against me, if I may say so.
Plus, as I made her promise when she was 7, once she wins her first grammy, emmy or oscar, she's going to buy me a beach house. She has to pay for that before she can pay all the money she's going to spend on the years of therapy she's going to need after having me as a father.
But she assures me she's up for it.
Good strategy!
She sounds like a real gem!
