Now that the NFL playoff scene is set, the 12 teams still playing this season will battle for the Super Bowl championship and the risk-seeking fans will begin making wagers on their pick to win it all.
Monday, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook unveiled its Super Bowl odds, placing the Cardinals, Panthers and defending-champion Patriots as the favorites at 9-2. The Steelers' 8-1 odds of hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy rank sixth-best in the league third among AFC teams.
Despite winning the AFC South, the battered Texans have the lowest odds at 60 to 1.
Here's a full breakdown of the odds:
New England Patriots: 9-2
Carolina Panthers: 9-2
Arizona Cardinals: 9-2
Denver Broncos: 5-1
Seattle Seahawks: 5-1
Pittsburgh Steelers: 8-1
Cincinnati Bengals: 20-1
Kansas City Chiefs: 25-1
Green Bay Packers: 30-1
Minnesota Vikings: 30-1
Washington Redskins: 40-1
Houston Texans: 60-1
I'd like to add an "exacta" bet to the mix: pick, not just the winner of the Super Bowl, but the team that loses in it. Of course it would be harder to hit, but would pay more. I wonder if they already have a bet like this out there somewhere.(?)
Panthers or the Cardinals from the NFC.
Anyone’s guess from the AFC.
Maybe the time for a wild card AFC team to make it to the SB, then get blown out? A good longshot bet might be for KC or Steelers to the SB?
C’mon, take a chance! Pick an exacta.
Super Bowl winner PLUS Super Bowl runner-up.
I’ll go with Denver on top, Seattle runner-up
(ie, Denver beats Seattle in SB-50)
Anyone else want to try hitting the exacta at this early stage?
New England Patriots (AFC): 9-2
Carolina Panthers (NFC): 9-2
Arizona Cardinals (NFC): 9-2
Denver Broncos (AFC): 5-1
Seattle Seahawks (NFC): 5-1
Pittsburgh Steelers (AFC): 8-1
Cincinnati Bengals (AFC): 20-1
Kansas City Chiefs (AFC): 25-1
Green Bay Packers (NFC): 30-1
Minnesota Vikings (NFC): 30-1
Washington Redskins (NFC): 40-1
Houston Texans (AFC): 60-1
Not that it matters, but I’m hanging with MaybeBurger ...

New England beats Seattle 31 to 28.
Seahawks beat Denver in the Superbowl. 43 to 8.
I hope, I hope
Pats over the Cardinals.
Broncos over Panthers in a squeaker.
Seahawks over the Steelers.
Panthers over Kansas City 41-13
Seattle beating New England this time...
...Like a red-haired step child.
Great website Man Games Lost-How injured is YOUR Team?
They had this graphic, and the size of the circle denotes the importance/value of the injured players to the team while the X axis is the total number of man-hours lost for the team, and the Y axis is the number of wins. Great graph.
It is interesting to see NE all alone over at the far right, which tells the story. Everyone else has injuries as well, but that level has gotta take a toll. Once you hit the bottom of the depth, you begin to lose muscle mass, so to speak.
That is why I am surprised the Pats are listed at 9-2.
Argh. The X axis is the man-GAMES lost to a team, not man-hours.
I’ll take Carolina, and the Patriots. With the Patriots winning 31 to 14.
I’m rooting for the Redskins just because they are anti-PC and it will make Harry Reid and his light-skinned cousin Barrrack very mad!
Come on people . . . let’s get together and make some kumbaya on their liberal behinds!
Panthers vs Patriots. 23-17 Panthers
Panthers had 5th easiest schedule in reg season and easiest schedule of any team in the playoffs. They will be bounced out in their first game.
AZ & Seattle had 5th and 6th toughest respectively.
NE is too banged up., It will be Denver v AZ in SB 50.
AZ will will the championship.
Is NE banged up because of their schedule?
