Well, not really his “faith,” but his denomination. The way the article writer phrases it, you would think he doesn’t believe Catholics are Christians at all.
Cruz is not Catholic. Cruz has been a Southern Baptist since he was 8 years old. I met and spoke with the pastor who prayed with 8 year old Ted and who also baptized him. The pastor, who is retired now, lives in Tennessee.
He probably is distinguishing born-again Christians from other "christian" denominations. If that is the case, then you are correct.
