I’m a longtime Colts fan, since the days of Johnny Unitas and the 1971 Super Bowl, which they won vs the Cowboys. A couple of weeks ago they looked like a sure shot to clinch their comparatively weak division, but then lost to their main rivals, the Houston Texans, which really put them in a difficult spot. At this point it will take a miracle for them to make the playoffs.
Given the problems with back-up QBs this year, it’s amazing to realize that the Colts had different starting QBs in 1967 and 1968, Unitas and Morrall, who each won the MVP in their year.
They also finished 11-1-2 in ‘67, and didn’t make the playoffs.
