Erickson is the late afternoon host at WSB in Atlanta, which became Rush’s affiliate in that city less than two years ago. WSB is a powerhouse and it helps Rush achieve tremendous ratings in the city. After losing some key affiliates in other cities (KFI in Los Angeles, for one), Rush wants to hang on to stations that are dominant in their markets. By inviting Erickson, Rush is throwing a bone to WSB and its owner, Cox Communications. Cox also owns Rush affiliates in places like Jacksonville and Dayton that also have strong ratings.
