Millions of children across America will rush down their stairs on Christmas morning to find a pile of presents waiting for them under their trees.
But for thousands of families there will be less gifts than they planned - after FedEx admitted it did not make all of its scheduled deliveries on time for the big day.
With just hours to go until Christmas, the delivery service admitted defeat, infuriating scores of customers whose festive plans are now ruined.

Memphis airport was shut down - meaning no one allowed on the ramp - because of thunderstorms during the day sort outbound launch on Wednesday. Add the bad weather at many destinations and that’s a problem. All the freight eventually got out, though.
My spawn got one new toy and Christmas goodies for their first Christmas. And a lot of pics of them under the tree opening the one package. And lots of pics of them munching the Christmas goodies.
I can’t see the point in extravagant Christmas spreads for a 1 year old. (or less if the kiddo wasn’t born until July and isn’t but 5 or 6 months old max).
Then again, I grew up in Africa, so my definition of ‘extravagant’ includes indoor water seal flush potties and potable indoor tap water. YMMV.
To some people it’s bad weather... to others it’s white Christmases. Again a point-of-view issue.
A LOT of USPS priority mail is flown by Fedex.
The issue is one of appreciation. It’s not wrong to find yourself in fat city. It’s wrong to treat that as some humdrum affair. Your past did give you some perspective, it looks like. But God can give us perspective even now.
Live of course, but in this sick and twisted country, I bet the selfish people didn’t care about that.
Such is Obama’s Amerikkka.
I ordered two gifts from Amazon prime and both were delivered before Christmas. I procrastinated, yet they came through for me. I am grateful for their efficiency.
They sure do. The mechanics really work hard on Christmas Day when all of the deferred mainenance comes home to roost.

The people were so preoccupied in their hustle and bustle that they forgot there was more to the world than just themselves. And that this world continues to face challenges that it can surmount and even come out of smelling like a rose, but it has to have the right attitude in order to do that. An attitude that is grateful to God is key.
Awwwww, it’s not that bad is it kid?
Yabut when?
I liked 'em better when they were the "FLYING TIGERS".
* They came by that name honestly.
Fedex, UPS all of them are basically reliant on $8.00 an hour low wage earners to move packages. They come and go.
Fed Ex rates would go up a lot if they didn’t contract with USPS.
Kind of basic business there.
I got my box of fine cigars delivered by the USPS lady, to my door on Christmas Eve.
I use Amazon Prime also, but this year shopped mostly locally. Only ordered 3 gifts, which I couldn’t find locally.
“but for a month or so, you got no sleep and made a lot of money. Something interfered with THAT structure.”
I’ve been doing 12 hour midnight shifts every night but ONE since November 23rd.
This year’s “troubles” are insignificant compared to last year’s, when MILLIONS of packages didn’t make it, and almost all weather related.
Tornadic weather and airplanes don’t mix well. We can’t do a damn thing about the weather, folks. It’s been a while since I have been chased off the ramp by lightening in December, but I’ll take it over the unseasonable frozen hell of the two previous Decembers.
This year went MUCH smoother than last year, thanks to better planning and more available aircraft, and all of the contractors were ready for the last minute crunch, knowing it was coming.
Amazon not assuring FREE two-day delivery after the 16th took a huge unknown, and a big burden out of the system.
‘’Iâll get stuff EARLIER than even scheduled.’’
Me, too. Deliveries scheduled to arrive on Thursday showed up on Monday. (Amazon) I love Amazon.
‘’ Xmas expecting a Xmas miracle.’’
Why “X” out Christ?
