Millions of children across America will rush down their stairs on Christmas morning to find a pile of presents waiting for them under their trees.
But for thousands of families there will be less gifts than they planned - after FedEx admitted it did not make all of its scheduled deliveries on time for the big day.
With just hours to go until Christmas, the delivery service admitted defeat, infuriating scores of customers whose festive plans are now ruined.

It tracks. They said it will arrive tomorrow..they promise!
I can’t really buy the weather stuff...usually its always snowy and crappy all over.
Last year it was ups...this year its fed-up.
Never heard of it. If it has a FedEx tracking number, it has the FedEx guarantee. It’s not the Post Office.
I’m having worse luck with Amazon Prime since USPS got the contract instead of UPS. Often the carrier lies and reports a second day delivery to Amazon and delivers it the next day. (I see the delivery reported on the website and look everywhere at 11 pm.)
My neighbor saw them drop a package from waist height to the bricks - product inside was destroyed.
You would think these idiots would realize that Amazon is almost the only reason that they have jobs. They need to lose the shitty attitude.
Lol @ “no trucks over 6 wheels allowed in left lane”.
UPS still hires them. Pay is a little low in my opinion. Helpers were being paid 10/hr. Working 10 down to 4 hours per day. Most people don’t show up reliably or more than a few days here or ther. My kid busted his ass, wanted as many hours they would give him. They worried too much about labor costs at 10/hr. That’s just stupid. Can’t get people to work then don’t work the ones who will. If I have 1 out of 25-50 people working hard, pay them and work them. Quit being penny wise / pound foolish. His driver broke his record on deliveries by 35% yet they wouldn’t work him the next day but for 4 hours .... Wtf. If I can increase productivity even 20% of a truck, 75k per year driver by putting a 10 hr kid in the truck, and then refuse for any reason, the manager should be fired.
I don’t understand businesses these days. See too many owners / manager think from a zero sum game POV. Good people who add value and reduce risk should be treated as gold not shit. Managers are either incompetent or aren’t empowered to make decisions. The guys up top think they need to all be millionaires by squeezing everyone all the time. Away with it because the governments in bed with him and help her competition.
I’m ranting into a different topic. No one wants to work but no one wants to pay. Which came first?
The methlab delivery was an analogy :)
Who designs a bridge like that?
My husband left half of the presents setting in the hall closet when he grabbed the wrong bag.
But as we are all adults, no harm no foul.
People need to learn to relax a bit.
FedEx met one-day, two-day, and three-day guarantees 97.8% of the time this holiday season, compared to 97.3% in the 2014 season and 95.4% in 2013.
UPS, on the other hand, did better last year, according to ShipMatrix: It had a 95.5% on-time rate this year, compared to 98.1% last year and 93.9% in 2013, when the services also saw weather-related issues.
