Florida has, in their agreement to reciprocity with any state, the proviso that non-recognition of reciprocity by another state, will consequently ALSO mean that that states carry permit holders WILL NOT be recognized in FL.

Just imagine, for a moment HOW many people from FL also have homes in VA and vice versa, and travel to and from.

Note also (from the asterisks next to the states named in the article) that NC, Tennessee and Kentucky continue to recognized VA carry permits even though their citizen’s carry permits will not be recognized by VA. This is going to BLOW UP in a major way.

Count me as one of them. Primary residence is in Florida but I spend 4-5 months a year in Virginia visiting with family. Since we often hike in bear and rattlesnake habitats, I carry a revolver with both snake shot and hunting loads. Also carry as we travel between states as I usually have items of value with me. I had a Virginia permit before moving to Florida and found the Florida permit course to be every bit as comprehensive as Virginia’s. I see no reason for this action and hope the legislature will take action to correct it.
