What in the world just happened?!
That's what everyone and anyone is thinking Sunday night after watching the dramatic—and by we really mean dramatic—final moments of Miss Universe 2015.
At first, host Steve Harvey made it perfectly clear that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez was the winner. There were hugs, cheers, flowers, a standing ovation and everything you expect from a happy moment.
Things quickly took a turn, however, when Steve stopped the party.
"Okay folks, I have to apologize. The first runner-up is Colombia," he explained as the camera panned to Miss USA and Miss Philippine. In other words, Miss Universe 2015 is Miss Philippine Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach!
Yes, it was awkward. Yes, the camera crews, audience and host didn't know what to do. And somehow the show went on.
"Listen folks, let me just take control of this. This is exactly what's on the card," Harvey shared while holding up the results. "I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake. It was on the card. Horrible mistake. It is my mistake."
He continued while trying to hold back tears, "Please don't hold it against the ladies. We feel so badly but it's been a great night."
Great night? More like unforgettable night!

"Columbia" was crowned last year, yet abruptly dethroned this year.
The crash took place on Las Vegas Boulevard in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino and Planet Hollywood.

"None of this was done on purpose. It was an honest mistake," she said, apologizing on behalf of the organization she now represents. She said Harvey told her afterward that she "should just enjoy the moment."Harvey also apologized on Twitter, but at first misspelled the home countries of both contestants before also fixing that.
"I'd like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake," he wrote. "I feel terrible."
Harvey, who was hosting the contest for the first time, said he re-read the card and noticed it said "first runner-up" next to the Colombia contestant's name before he asked producers if he had made a mistake.
"I feel horrible for this young woman," he said after the pageant.
An executive with pageant owner WME-IMG, Mark Shapiro, said Harvey caught the mistake and corrected it on his own, saying he wanted to make a wrong into a right.
"It was humiliating for the women. It was humiliating for him," he told reporters after the pageant.
As all this was unfolding, a car drove up onto a sidewalk and struck dozens of people just outside the Planet Hollywood hotel-casino where the pageant was taking place. The Las Vegas Strip was soon jammed with ambulances and fire trucks, and authorities said 37 people were taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries and one person was killed.

That was my first thought after reading then watching the ending online. He had one job and screwed that up. Then he gets all teary eyed and tells the audience not to blame the girls for this (like, anyone would actually blame the contestants for this, lol). Then, I watched the previous video of Perez Hilton slamming Trump and Harvey laughing his ass off...sorry for Miss Columbia who thought she won for a few minutes and sorry for Miss Phillipines who had to not act too happy that she did win, all on live TV, but I can’t stand Perez or Harvey so that part was entertaining.
I don’t feel sorry for him at all.
My family loves him on Family Feud and I can’t stand him even if we only see a show a month. He irritates the hell out of me.
Didnt Family Feud’s twitter account blame Republicans for the the Govt shutdown I just remembered that

Well he is forever going to be known as the guy that screwed up the Miss Universe pageant, if this is his karma he got it in spades. This is what they get for trashing Trump, sweet revenge I feel bad for Miss Philippines she seems like a nice woman, same goes for Miss Colombia they had her thinking for two minutes that she had won

I thought Miss USA was the prettiest. Far from generic. Generic is now anyone not caucasian/blond/blue eyes. I see women everywhere who look more like Miss Columbia and Miss Phillipines than Miss USA.

I wouldn’t mind that (him being remembered for that). It was a screw up and I get that. It’s just I can’t feel too sorry for an entertainer (or any “celebrity”) who slams anyone who doesn’t share their worldview, wants to shut them up/deny them 1st A rights, mock them and their beliefs on media that they control, while at the same time get special treatment of his/her own. The slamming of anyone not of their worldview, on National TV then this happens. Yeah, I’m not too upset by that, lol. Harvey will skate for this, imo.
