Still sending healing prayers for Destiny, and Robert, and strength prayers for Stina. I hope progress is being seen, even if slow.
Thinking of you today - any news?
I wish I knew how to reply to all of you at the same time. All your kind words, thoughts and prayers are very comforting to us.
Robert has improved so much on Christmas day, it’s a true miracle. He is out of ICU and ready to fight this battle.
Long term.... they will have to give up there second floor apartment and temporarily move in with his parents. We’re starting to build a wheelchair ramp, find a wheelchair, walker....
Destiny is still critical. She is still not strong enough for another surgery and still in a coma. Doctors want to move her to Emory hospital in Atlanta within the next 2 weeks.
We’re still waiting on the complete police report and don’t have details, but do know that the other driver was arrested at the accident scene.

Thank you for the update, ANKE. From what you said it sounds like we can be be cautiously optimistic here at FR. I’m so grateful for Robert’s progress and for the fact that he has his parents, wife and wonderful in-laws in his life and in position to help him in all of the ways that you all are doing.
Sweet Destiny is going to come around in her own time; isn’t that just how we girls do? Meanwhile, she has lots of FRiends keeping her close in their hearts and prayers, not to mention her school friends, family and neighbors who are probably busy making get well cards and planning visits to see her. I don’t have to know Destiny to know she is very well loved; her grandma is all the proof I need. She will be in great hands at Emory; I’ve heard nothing but good things about that hospital. I’m guessing that your daughter will be stretched a bit more thinly with husband and daughter in different places; extra prayers for Stina and for you all as you help take up the slack.
Please take care of yourself as you are caring for everyone else. I don’t know if you are there in the area with Robert and Destiny or are dealing with all of this from afar, but try to get some rest, either way.

We are living in the same area. As a matter of fact, the accident happend only about 2 miles from our house.
I made the extremely difficult decision today to quit my job. My boss is a good friend of mine and very understanding and hopefully he will hire me back. I had no choice, I have to take care (full time) of the other 2 grandkids
I don’t have any news on Robert or Destiny. They’re about the same as yesterday.

Yes. Would love to know how they are doing- and also Mom. (?Stina?) The pic with Papa and Destiny brought tears. Such a beautiful little girl! I pray for her strength with what she is and has to go through.
Hope things are looking brighter. How is everyone doing?
Every day is a new challenge.
Robert is home( currently living with his parents) . He still needs 24/7 care. Had to find wheelchair, walker, build a wheelchair ramp. ... Another surgery in a couple of weeks.
Destiny is still in ICU. Had a visit with her last night. She’s still on the feeding tube but trachea had been taken out. She’s alert, but very weak. She lost so much weight. She was so happy to see us ( me & hubby). Holding and squeezing my hand the whole time. She was all smiles and is such a strong, little girl.
It always hits hard when I step out of her room and the ‘Why?’ question hits me once again....
Oh ANKE....this must be so overwhelming, although I am glad they’re still alive and fighting.
I will continue to pray for all, and please stay strong. They are fortunate to have you, as you are to have them.
