Three committees in the House of Representatives announced Friday that they were launching concurrent investigations into allegations that President Barack Obama deliberately manipulated intelligence reports from Syria and Iraq, allowing the Islamic State group to thrive.
According to the Washington Examiner, Republican Reps. Ken Calvert of California, Mike Pompeo of Kansas and Brad Wenstrup of Ohio will lead the investigations for the Armed Services Committee, Intelligence Committee and the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, respectively.
"In addition to looking into the specific allegations, the Joint Task Force will examine whether these allegations reflect systemic problems across the intelligence enterprise in CENTCOM or any other pertinent intelligence organizations," read a joint statement from Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry, R-Texas, Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., and Defense Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Rodney Freylinghuysen, R-N.J.
Yep. It’s all theater. I wonder if that’s not also true about the so called election that’s coming up.
They could have proof and testimony from 10 generals and the Iraqi president but impeachment would never even come up.
It must be okay to arm ISIS. It’s ISIL that Obama is concerned about. I’ve never heard him say the word “ISIS”.

I think Obama was playing the “exotic immigrant card by his bootstraps” card for his book.

With Onambla appointees in the Just-Us Dept. there really is no point in doing these “investigations”.
Without an Attorney General or Special Prosecutor to bring charges, it goes nowhere. Not that revealing it doesn’t have some nominal historical value, the House and the Senate really don’t have the ability to do anything with what is learned.

THEORETICALLY, given the nation is in extremis, the House and Senate could show up tomorrow and have Obama removed in days. Nothing in the Constitution bars them from having a fast impeachment, trial and removal order.
The only event that could POSSIBLY remove Obama in a short time frame is if the American people took to the streets EN MASSE and drove Congress to be in extremis.
The reality is the democrats will say this is grandstanding by republicans to hurt their President and in turn their frontrunner for the 2016 election.
If there is, as Trump warns, another 9-11 type attack and it is attributed to ISIS, AND the evidence is incontrovertible that Obama enabled and abetted ISIS. then Congress may be driven to be in extremis.
As for your history of impeachment, inpeachment does not remove a president, it indicts a president. A Senate trial that returns a verdict of guilty permits the Senate to remove a president. You are correct that two democrats were impeached and neither removed. But Nixon would most likely have been impeached and his resignation is viewed as a de facto removal.
Impeachment is gone...not that you could get a conviction. The democRATS would vote for acquittal no matter what.

It's an investigation of CENTCOM and the intelligence community, and I'm afraid it's going to be a long way from there to Obama.
Can’t be all that hard as he claimed to be born in Kenya on his biographical handout he used for 16 years.
